Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

I got three theme films in today... Universal's The Wolf Man (1941), Underworld: Awakening (2012) in 3D, and Hammer's The Curse of the Werewolf (1961). All FTV and all out of the unwatched pile.

How was the 3D for Underworld? I think I recall a review that mentioned there was some good "out of the window" effects. But just wondering in general. And it's like $9 on Amazon.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

I opened my new, shiny Wolf Man box set and watched Werewolf of London and She-Wolf of London. Both are fun films that look great! If the rest of the transfers look as good, I may have to buy the Frankenstein set even though it only contains two films I don't already own on BD.

This evening I watched The Howling for the first time and really enjoyed it! The transformation effects were grotesque, and it was disturbing to see Richard Picardo as a sleazy bad guy since I've been watched a lot of Star Trek: Voyager this year. Also, I want there to be a television show centered around Dick Miller's occult book store.

My full moon viewing was Legend Of The Werewolf which unfortunately hasn't made it to DVD or BD but the Interglobal Video VHS looks and sounds pretty decent and it's a fun little flick centering around a wolf boy, carnies and a brothel co-starring Peter Cushing.

Turns out it's all horror except the midnight movie. They're playing "sleazy" movies at midnight every night of the week, instead of just Saturday nights, for the rest of the month. Tonight's movie was Space Thing (1968). I think the sleazy movies are part of their second anniversary celebration.

I thought it looked okay. Definitely worth $9, if you're into those movies.

I am not having a good month I've only watched a few films that I liked and I've barely watched any films at all (just over 30). Things have just been so crazy and unpleasant IRL that even when I have time to sit down and watch something I'm usually not in the mood. You know things are bad when I can't even enjoy horror movies

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Tonight I watched Razor Blade Smile(1998) for the first time. It was entertaining and amusing with its sly sense of humor throughout, and was made for under $20,000 which is impressive.

The funny thing is. I thought I caught bits of the ending back in the 90's on cable. Since it was listed as Razor Blade Smile in the onscreen guide, but obviously was a mistake. Since the scene I recall on cable was a a hot babe in latex sword fighting with some bad guy in a hallway and then supernatural powers come into play with bad lightning effects and it was obviously shot on video and had that cheap video look feel. I have no idea what movie thatwas and always assumed it was Razor Blade Smile since it was listed as such. But RBS was shot on film for one thing and despite the budget looks professional.

Also apparently there are R and unrated versions of the film unless the running times listed on numerous packaging and online are wrong?

There were two VHS releases. One R rated 97 minutes shown here.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Razor-Blade-...oAAOSwVFlT451D

And one unrated, 101 minutes shown here(no rating logo on box or tape, doesn't even state 'unrated', so running time listed is all this is based on)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Razor-Blade-...sAAOSwFe5Xzxwo

The version I watched was 97 minutes, but the main sex scene in it was pretty explicit, and their was a good amount of gore throughout. And normally it'd be either the sex/nudity or gore that gets chopped in the R version in the 90's. So unless their really is a more explicit version of the film out there, I don't know what to think on the two different vhs releases(the dvds are more confusing, since the first release is listed as R rated, 101 minutes, the later reissue with special features is listed as unrated 101 minutes).

So if anyone is more familiar with the movie than I am, I'd love to know exactly what the differences are, since I find this stuff fascinating, and naturally prefer to see the least censored version of a movie when possible.

Just like the Sleepaway Camp series, Jaws series takes a HUGE nosedive in the 3rd installment.

For today's theme movie, I decided to watch a kaiju movie. I saw Gamera vs Barugon was on the linked list, so since I love kaiju films, I jumped at the chance to revisit it. Gamera doesn't get much screen time in this one, but there is still plenty of kaiju action with Barugon. This entry is also unique in that it is the only Showa era Gamera movie that doesn't have a little kid in it.

After looking at the posters, I vaguely remember that one. Okay, I remember liking Barugon's design and confusing powers! I watched all the Gamera films in quick succession and often get them confused.

Speaking of kaiju films, I went to see Shin Gojira at the theater on Saturday. It's different than any other Godzilla film that I've seen. The monster is more like an animal than he usually is. Much of the destruction is caused by him protecting himself. Thought heavy-handed at times, I liked the focus on bureaucracy and the limitations of democracy and globalization. The theater was pretty packed, and every time "the Americans" came up, there was a lot of laughter, especially the "typical Americans" line.

Congrats, malazar! Great haul there.

Today is a good example as to why I try to stick with only themes for movie choices; I watched the 1966 Queen of Blood streaming Prime Video on Amazon. It stars a young John Saxon, the epic Basil Rathbone in one of his final roles, and a nearly unrecognizable Dennis Hopper. The movie is great, campy fun. Clocking in at only 78 minutes, it's an easy watch and does not take much brainpower. Would never have found this but for searching theme titles.
