Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only like the Welcome Package. Also remember that any preliminary codes are just that and BN could pull it, change the details or exclusions anything prior to release so always a bit of YMMV until the final release date

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc. There are glitches where sometimes an excluded item will be allowed but assume that is the exception to the rule
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Max 3 GC on a single online order.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order
Return period is 14 days after delivery (possibly 30 days for members though I've never tried)
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept
The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

I had a good run the past few days, but now work will kick in to decrease my totals for a few days ahead.

That Frankenstein price is too good to pass up. Even better? It's available for me to pick up at the store.

Not really feeling today's theme. Not entirely sure what I'm going to pick after work. I guess I have the same criticism with today's theme as others had with the TCM Underground proposed theme. There's no real connective tissue to any of the films. It's just a list of actors. Oh, well. I know I have some qualifying films so I'll decide on something.

I was a little disappointed at first, but now think I like the break from a set topic theme. Those can be tough if you don't really enjoy the theme. Today, we can watch a broad spectrum of stuff. There are more options to dig out of the actor list too. I forget if these were in the list or not, but I dug around and have Sisters and Two Evil Eyes lined up.

Not really. I think it is in the middle. A movie is not either a 0 or 10 for me. I think the original was better, but I don't think the sequel was bad.

That damn thing is threatening to derail my challenge. I'm Eastern NC, barely in what's considered the coastal area. We've been stocking up on water and all that prep stuff, but I never got around to buying a generator. Fingers crossed it won't be as bad as predicted.

I wasn't sure about sticking to the theme, but wanted to try since I've done that each day so far. I managed to pick out: Suspiria, Scanners (Criterion), After.Life, Dark Shadows (Johnny Depp; I've never seen it and can't pass up a Tim Burton movie no matter how bad it might be). Those plus the subset pick and maybe even The Hidden and I think I'll be good.

Also the "Ban the Sadist Videos" doc on the second disc of the Severin disc (and streaming on Exploitation.TV) isn't a bad way to dip your toes in the water on the subject. I'm sure it isn't as in-depth as the two Severin ones I need to watch, but that's a lot of hours to commit to during the challenge. Maybe afterward.

Now to back to the Udo two-fer with Blood for Dracula...
Wasn't the DVD limited edition?

So, like, Witchboard 2 isn't winning any Oscars or anything...but I could watch Ami Dolenz do her taxes.

Also, great line:

I'm still a bit dazed from The Girl Next Door and I watched it over a year ago. Not a movie I'm in a hurry to revisit.

This is one of my most favorite Walken performances. It reminds me of the Ed Glosser skit on SNL, where he plays a trivial psychic in the vein of The Dead Zone.

Excuse the separate posts, but I've been playing catch up from thread 1....

Curiously what sort of a job is this? Going into work as a therapist may not have been my best choice as far as horror movies goes.

I watched Phantasm: Ravager, today. It was kind of a mess. Like it was a bunch of shorts cobbled into a movie.

The Veil (2016) is an interesting film with an odd plot structure where the cast sits around watching old video tapes that tell muc of the story; Thomas Jane gives a good performance but things are a little too spot on for my preference and it ultimately feels like one over long gimmick.

I understand it was originally meant to be a series of webisodes then grew from there. I'm really curious about the new Phantasm and earlier remasters but bummer they're digital only (and more expensive on Vudu, my preference for digital, than elsewhere). I'll probably end up biting the bullet.

Stumbled upon a quirky film for today's theme, Dear Dead Delilah. It's on YouTube, not a gorgeous picture but more than adequate enough quality for me. It stars Agnes Moorehead in her last film, and only headlining role, has Grandpa Walton, and at least two actors from Dark Shadows. It's a strange little film, sort of half old-school gothic mystery, and half 70s strangeness and gore. I think I like it.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Yesterday evening, I want to an OKC Horror Fest screening of De Palma's Carrie. It was my first time to see the film, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The room was full of people who were engaged, including a woman who cheered at several deaths. The film was a lot weirder and off-kilter than I thought it would be. (What's up with the silly getting ready montage?) I'm always pleased when I see a lauded film, and it surpasses my expectations.

The group was going to show Friday the 13th Part III after, but oddly enough, the electricity at the venue went on the fritz after Carrie. Perhaps I'll go next week to see it.
