Re: Last DVD you watched?

I tried to watch The Shining last night. I've owned this DVD for a long long time, and last watched it about 5 years ago on a 27" tube TV. Last night on my 4K set with the Blu-ray player -- Yikes!!! Worst thing I have ever seen on the TV. Unwatchable!!!!

Re: Last DVD you watched?

After I got done watching the TV version of Halloween II from the Halloween II Collectors Edition DVD late last night, I managed to watch the beginning of Hellraiser Bloodline and stopped watching because I was getting tired so I went to bed.

I'm going through the Tales from the Darkside set, on my DVD player connected to a 4k TV. Yep, it looks every episode is filmed in a snowstorm

Re: Last DVD you watched?

I had to order the Blu-ray version of The Shining. To great a film to not have a watchable version in the collection. For the most part, most DVDs look fine on the set, but Kubrick didn't seem to anticipate high resolution big screen TVs when he put The Shining first on DVD. Good enough for VHS, good enough for DVD. Not!

MST3K Zombie Nightmare
The interview with the actors was neat. It’s cool that many of the people involved have a good experience with their movie being riffed.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Nope. the TV version DVD disc for the Collectors Edition is only in fullscreen while the main DVD disc that has the regular theatrical is widescreen.

The TV version of Halloween II is still great to watch anyway

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Last night I watched The Witch for DVD with the commentary track on. Decent commentary track but didnt learn anything from it since it sort of repeats stuff you learn from the Making of and the Q and A bonus features anyway
