TV on DVD* Challenge - The Sixth Season Discussion Thread

Re: TV on DVD* Challenge - The Sixth Season Discussion Thread
Thanks for running things, Travis! My list isn't *quite* final but close enough.
I watched S1 of The Walking Dead yesterday and just don't get the attraction. For me it was like watching a *really long* zombie movie but not nearly as fun or interesting. There were many plot holes/inconsistencies that bothered me no end with people doing incomprehensible stuff for no other apparent reason than to move the "plot" along. I'll not bother with more seasons of that one. In all fairness I'm not much of a zombie movie fan and prefer the more humorous ones like Shaun of the Dead. I *do* like most of the Romero ones but they're pretty much exceptions.

2nd selection: #20 MrTerrific
3rd selection drawn: #23 pagefrance, who is unfortunately ineligible to win a prize by being outside the United States. Sorry!

I'll contact each winner in turn to see which prize they want, and inform the next in line what their remaining choices are. Enjoy!

Hey, thanks Travis! Sorry no internet at home and just saw your message today.
Finally finished Wagon Train S3 and Mayday S12. Those were my main goals to finish. I watched 31 hours of Wagon Train this month heh just beating out Heartland. I love doing these and hope they continue. I don't watch many movies, just mostly tv shows.

Congrats to the winners and big thanks to Travis! But also, what is the statistical probability of not winning any of the last 547 Challenge prizes, despite being the only person to qualify for every single chance? I should buy a lottery ticket! Or maybe not....

Don't lose heart; if past challenges have taught me anything about prizes, it's that they never wind up going to the top group of numbers drawn. Someone only created a placeholder post that was never active, someone lives outside the U.S., someone never checked their messages or kept up with the discussion thread to know they'd won, and every now and again, someone just doesn't want any of the offered prizes so they pass. You just need something like 18 participants to do one of these things and BAM! You're a winner!

In fact, I already own the prizes so if I get picked in a re-draw please donate my prize to science.

Thanks, Travis!
Discovered, started and finished-except-the-reunion-movie Dead Like Me. Overall, very enjoyable and I'm very pleased I watched it. But in some specifics, it was surprisingly depressing and bleak for a comedy - even if a very black one.

Thank you for hosting, and thank you GoldenWheel for the prizes! Considering I had such a strong start, I didn't finish quite where I wanted to, but got through a lot of really good things so good challenge overall.

For me, it's still going on, as when I'm not watching stuff for the Academy Award Challenge, I'm watching TV shows.

I watch more movies than TV shows, so this challenge is a welcome change of pace. I'm back to movies, but I finished the second season of Californication this month, and plan on finishing Cosmos before the month is over.
