Curiously, Colleen isn't even mentioned in the article.

Colleen's daughter, Emily Goldwyn (great granddaughter of Samuel Goldwyn), got covered in The New York Times recently, thanks to a SnapChat series she's doing with Steven Spielberg's daughter Sasha. (What the hell is SnapChat?):

I just ordered a replacement copy of Volume 1 of The Three Stooges, plus I have the movies mentioned earlier, by the former Mister Peepers, in a 2 disc DVD collection.
On another note, debating whether I want to watch my Conan movies this month or wait till next month.

I'll join in on the "Recently-bought" convo. Seth's (Celluloidterror) review of Video Nasties 2-Draconian Days completely sold me and it should be arriving today or tomorrow. That'll be my documentary pick.
I watched that on last year's challenge. Be prepared for an annoying theme song.

Well, there's a good debate. Should we include apocalyptic/Post-apocalyptic/Dystopian films as a category or is that too Science Fiction?
Dystopian films might be too mainstream as it would include too many big budget hits. I think most films that are suitable for this challenge can likely get in under different criteria.
Post-apocalyptic films might be ok if we put some limit on them. I'm thinking perhaps 80s and earlier. Something like Damnation Alley should be a no-brainer sure thing. Something later than that might have to slip in under different criteria. I wouldn't want something like Will Smith's I Am Legend to be automatic, while Will and Jaden Smith's After Earth was huge budget and made back nearly double its money but it has an 11% on Rotten Tomatoes, so it would get in that way.
Also, I'm of the opinion that M. Night Shyamalan is now such a shitty filmmaker he belongs in the safe list. Agree?
Oh, and Long Weekend Blu is coming out April 14th. Still cheap on Amazon.
Arrow finally has Region A/1 but their prices are steep. Still cheaper to get a region free player and buy from the UK.

Include with the pre-90s stipulation? People already think this challenge is complicated as enough, but it's more to allow in Damnation Alley type films and keep out modern $100M blockbusters. Those would have to get in under their own circumstances (bombs).

Colleen Camp & Sondra Locke are a part of Eli Roth's upcoming film Knock Knock (2015), which looks essentially like an updated version of this film. Both of them, along with the Director of Death Game (1977) Peter S.Traynor, are all Producers on it.

I'd include the trashy post apocalyptic films on the list under some sort of name like Mad Maxploitation since just about all of them were made in the wake of those films (and are far superior and more entertaining than the Mel Gibson movies IMO)

After re-reading the checklist I would agree on dates on this category, say 80's Post Apocalyptic (or maybe I Love The Post-Apocolyptic 80s). But I am still in favor of excising the date from 3D.
On deck for the challenge:

I think stuff like Omega Man and Last Man on Earth, or even the original Planet of the Apes series can count as Post-apocalyptic. And there's A Boy and his Dog, Zardoz and so forth. I'd hate to limit it to just the 80s. I think Terminator 2 is kind of the tipping point. I'd count Terminator 1 but T2 is where I draw the line.

On tap for me is a lot of Kung Fu, Kaiju, Three Stooges, and possibly the Enter the Ninja trilogy.

I originally intended that as an include without stipulation but...

While I'm loading up my Plex server with great titles, I'm going to pop in a few DVDs and BDs for this challenge, too. Physical media makes it feel even more retro sometimes. The big one I'm looking forward to it Massacre Mafia Style, if my copy arrives in time from Amazon. Also going to dig into that Billy Bagg double-feature.

Just got this a week ago. This and the first Severin Video Nasties DVD are the best purchases I made this year. It's all about the bonus discs and in depth reviews/analysis of every single title. That's 82 in total for the Draconian Days release. Fantastic.

OK, pre-90s Post-apocalyptic films have been officially added to the checklist. And M. Night Shyamalan is now on the safe list.

Not sure if I just missed it but are we continuing with the From Dusk Till Dawn tradition?

I think that's just a reference to many challenges starting at dusk the night before and ending at dawn the next day (OP already mentions dawn as the end time).
Thanks from the Damnation Alley front!

I'm thinking some fanedits might make for interesting alternative watches. It's kind of the equivalent of projectionist messing with existing cuts or the endless altered versions of films that drive-ins would feature. Things like Jaws "Grindhoused", Star Wars "Grindhoused" or Ghostbusters: Paranormal Edition are what I'm referring to. Not just any fanedit, but those specifically attempting to change the nature of the film to something more along the exploitation lines.

Woo!! 2 more days!!
I've been holding off watching a lot of the stuff I've gotten in the mail recently, so I can watch them for this challenge.
