Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 10th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

I hate the fact that i'm behind the 8-ball already. Had to work tonight so I missed the 30th dusk start time. But got home and started things off with Brides of Dracula. A nice Hammer that I have enjoyed over the years. Although I hate the ending. Not the title that I had predicted to watch first, but my tastes change like the wind. So i'm off to a good start. Hoping to average 2 films a day. Some days won't have any, i'm afraid, but other days i'll be able to do more than two. So it should even out as I go along. This is some great stuff!

Although flawed Stalled was a really fun movie.

...now Bad Milo, if I can stay up for it.

I started with Horror of Dracula. For me that's ground zero for horror anyway.

An exchange between a girl and a guy in the gym:

Girl: How many reps can you do?
Guy: 15 to 20... more if I'm showing off
Girl: Well why don't you show off for me
Guy: I never waste effort in the gym.... besides I'm Betamax and you're VHS.

Pure gold.
That makes me want to blind buy the movie right there.

I thought these titles were not listed as horror previously but they are now per imdb. Strange Invaders was a creepy flick on cable and it makes about as much sense now as it did back then.

Both Saturn 3 and The Howling have dropped to all time lows of $15.99 each at Amazon. (Scream Factory releases)

Would Saturn 3 be considered horror? It scared me when I was a kid but I just see genre tags of Sci-Fi and Thriller on it.

The Wicker Man: The Final Cut has also dropped to an all-time low on Amazon at $11.99.

I noticed a number of horror movie price drops on Amazon today; hopefully this is the beginning of some good seasonal deals.

Started with THE NESTING from 1981. Was hoping for a lost gem. It is not a lost gem.

I love that October 8th also has a theme option for watching flicks from Full Moon Entertainment. Just noticed that as I was going through it.

Still haven't gotten to my first film, which will be later this evening. I'm going with Stalled since I keep getting stalled myself. I knew these first couple of days would be busy with work, etc. But I have the appropriate hours set aside to get one a day until Saturday. Then I can start getting more entrenched in my favorite month.

Not a lost gem, but I still had fun with it when I saw it.

Got my theme movie out of the way this morning with Blood Diner on YouTube. Typical bad 70s cheese, but had a couple decent quotes in it at least.
What were you on when you decorated this room?

I have MLB.TV on Roku, so I can watch horror movies first, and if I miss the game just tune into the archived playoff game.

That whole movie was pure gold. And I'd expect nothing less from something written by Mitch Paradise.

For this, my first horror challenge, I decided to start with my first viewing of The Abominable Dr. Phibes. Love the set pieces in this.
