Which version of 'Whistle and I'll Come To You' did you watch, the original (1970's I think) or the 2000-something remake with John Hurt?

I've got stuff for packs picked out (but not pulled!) now Chad, and a stack of 6 things (on my desk right now) that would make some nice singles prizes. So that could be 9 separate prizes (3 grands and 6 small) if you want.

And good lord I always have Frankenhooker. If someone is dropping out on you, we can make sure a good # of people get something to remember the challenge by.

I hope to get the packs pulled today.

The original. Not my kind of thing really.

I'm always in these challenges for the fun of it, with prizes as a bonus, but I'd just like to say kudos to Goldenwheels for coming through. You always come through and we appreciate it.

Glenn Hetrick (2011-present)
Neville Page (2012-present)
Patrick Tatopoulos (2011-2012)
Lois Burwell (2014-present)

Hamilton Books always comes through; many thanks to GoldenWheel - this guy has been near single handedly keeping challenge prizes afloat in some of the other challenges. It is appreciated.

This is a big reason I've never hesitated to sponsor a challenge here. You guys are awesome. People here have been great, no one to my knowledge has ever made big deal about the prizes (if they did maybe the runner deal with those folks without telling me!), or griped when there aren't any at all--it confused me for a bit but I totally respect that some of the runners don't even WANT prizes!

Without exception, I have dealt with only nice people here, both between challenge runners and participants. I have no doubt every single challenge here would still exist without prizes.

I will always reiterate though: The challenge runners do 99.9% of the work and should get 99.9% of the thanks! So thank your friendly neighborhood challenge runner today!

Unless you're a Challenge runner named Trevor. Then you're awful and do nothing, not even the one thing that allows Rich to distribute his prizes. Don't thank Trevor, even when he finally does his job in some alternate future when he isn't focused on the joy of enjoying Chad's awesome work, a wide range of horror films, and the beautiful list posts already in place.

If anyone is looking to read some horror short stories during the month, this decent looking huge anthology just went free for your Kindle app or device.

As always, words alone can't express how much it's appreciated.

And just for the record, that email remark wasn't referring to you. That was my whiny stress-filled overreaction yesterday in response to getting everything done in time, work piling up, and getting no response from potential sponsors that use the IB warehouse. Thankfully a good night's sleep cleared my head and I'm back to my senses. Just wanted to make that clear.

NO problem and no worries Chad (Frankly I think you are NUTS for doing this every year because this seems WAY stressful--but I am very glad you do, I am ready to watch some movies!).

Check your PMs when you get a chance. You've got prize pack info.

Bah!

The only real trouble I've ever had: I think on one challenge it took months for someone to claim the prize. I can hardly complain too much about that, I think they just forgot.

Oh and let me mention a longstanding prize rule because sometimes I forget: I can only ship prizes to the United States and territories. No foreign mail, including Canada. Sorry!

Thanks for mentioning that! I hadn't realized and planned on starting at sunset. I will now wait the extra 30 minutes, meaning I actually have enough time to leisurely put my kids to bed beforehand.

I used www.gaisma.com to figure out my dusk time.

3 1/2 hours to go!

Here's a link to the one I've been using. It's pretty basic, display wise, but the information is there and that's what counts.

After thorough study of both of them, I'd have to recommend PC's. No, Bob's! Wait, maybe PC's.....

I watched The Stendhal Syndrome for the first time. I thought it was decent as a Dario Argento flick, though I felt it could have been cut a little shorter. I was expecting more insanity, frankly. There is also some terribly dated CGI in it.

I've got so much news to share today that I honestly don't know where to begin, but I guess mentioning the completed checklist is up would be a good start:

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/12248750-post669.html

And if anyone has copy & pasted the basic one from yesterday, you'll want to do it again. A few minor revisions were made.

They're linked on the checklist, although I didn't include Lois Burwell since I heard she's a temporary replacement for Ve Neill while she's off working on the new Hunger Games flick. If that's not the case let me know and I'll add her.

Can we indeed hit part 2 before tonight? It seems quite doable with only 4 posts to go.
