Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 10th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

I'm going to attempt to marathon the Halloween boxset I just received. I will probably split them up over two nights because I like to wait until it's dark to watch scary movies.

I have the collections of F13 and NOES, and Hellraiser 1-6. Thought of tackling at least a few movies from the series.

I'm planning to tackle both the NOES and F13th Blu-Ray sets next month. Fortunately I'm taking a week off and I have 6 days scheduled to work from home so lots of extra viewing time!

I'm retired military, but have family obligations, so plan to watch when I can. Shooting for 100.

Last year's challenge with Friday the 13th and Crystal Lake Memories was a blast so I'm watching my Nightmare on Elm Street set with Never Sleep Again afterward. I am going for 100 too.

I am too, but being demoted at work and having my family stay at my house for a week is going to limit my ability. My wife particpates also, but not on here, and I told her she is going to beat me finally this year.

Still nothing at mine. I did walk out with The Believers (unrated) though; rang up at 30¢. From that other Blair Witch director, that's not Eduardo Sánchez.

The only way to get it has been thru Amazon or other etailers as a MOD version for around 15 to 20 bucks.

Walmart has a new 4 pack that contains Psycho II, III, IV and now Bate Motel. Unfortunately they are all crammed onto one dvd so I can't say anything about quality yet. But then again, I can't imagine the quality of the MOD version being that great either. I already have the old 3 pack that had 2, 3 & 4 spread over 2 discs and kept it since IV has been released on BD yet.

Anyway, the price is $8.88 for the four pack. Here is the kicker though...it has a sticker on the front for up to $7.50 Fandango cash to see Dracula Untold which opens 10-17-14!

By the way, they had several other 4 packs like this with the movie cash with various horror movies (though most weren't rare, were dvds and had already had BD releases) so I didn't pay much attention to those.

No luck with Bates Motel either, and I checked several stores. In the Blu-ray bin I did find an Echo Bridge Horror 6 pack and it was taped to another 4 pack, so 10 movies for $7.88. If just 3 of those movies don't completely suck I will be happy.

Oh, and the fate of the 10/9 subset entry has been determined. BOB was victorious by one vote.

Yeah, that was inevitable.

I appreciate it, but it's not necessary. There's another location I've yet to check that's usually pretty good about getting things the others don't.

And if there's anything that needs changing on the subset let me know soon. I've already got the info plugged into the list table, and plan to start posting the 33 discussion threads relatively soon. 2. The Carrier (summer-themed) - The Man with the Golden Doujinshi
  3. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (dreams, drugs & hallucinations) - Darkgod
  4. Club Dread (comedy/teen screams) - PCBreakdown
  5. Come Out and Play (deserted island horror) - rbrown498
  6. The Comedy of Terrors (chronological) - ntnon
  7. Phantom of the Paradise (original song) - Gobear
  8. The Howling (werewolves/were-creatures/Full Moon) - ororama
  9. A Bucket of Blood (foodservice industry terrors) - Trevor
  10. The Vampire Lovers (lesbians, brothels & sex demons) - clckworang
  11. The Funhouse (35 years of Fangoria covers) - Chad
  12. Buried Alive (graveyard horrors) - indiephantom
  13. Mimic 3: Sentinel (before they were stars) - Mondo Kane
  14. Rabid (motorcyle terrors) - Bladz
  15. The Host (Asian) - tarfrimmer
  16. Intruder (retail establishment terrors) - therja
  17. The Brood (dads/moms) - DaveyJoe
  18. I Was a Teenage Zombie (1980's video companies) - nezumi
  19. Jack's Back (slashers, giallos & serial killers) - J. Farley
  20. Vampire in Venice (vampires/apocalyptic) - SethDLH
  21. Christine (planes, trains & automobiles) - Darth Maher
  22. The Uninvited (2009) (sibling rivalry) - shellebelle
  23. The House On Haunted Hill (Bava/Castle) - cwileyy
  24. Bio-Zombie (zombies) - coyoteblue
  25. The Abominable Dr. Phibes/Dr. Phibes Rises Again! (drive-in double features) - Dimension X
  26. Oculus (supernatural & quiet/soft) - arw6040
  27. The House That Dripped Blood (anthology) - Undeadcow
  28. Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (masked killers) - shadokitty
  29. Rats: Nights of Terror (creature features) - SterlingBen
  30. Here's Comes the Devil (demonic possession/satanic/witchcraft) - Melmoth

Thanks for the hard work, Chad! Nice list, especially because I own the preonderance of those titles already, so this year I might have a shot at finishing the 31 film subset.

I stopped at a Walmart this morning and bought the pack with Bates Motel and Dracula cash. Cable is out at work so I might start early.

So we are to watch The Uninvited twice?? It's listed as the Criterion Crossover and Sibling Rivalry. Might I suggest Eyes Without A Face for the crossover? Also I recall some love for The Island of Lost Souls...

Those are two different versions of the film. 1944 and 2009.

Actually, it's two totally different films. The 1944 UNINVITED is a great ghost story, and the 2009 one is a remake of the South Korean film A TALE OF TWO SISTERS. It's a ghost story, too...sort of. But other than the title, the two films are unrelated.

"The Uninvited" is the most commonly-named horror movie ever. I see over 8 versions of it at imdb.

I know the Uninvited is a remake of A Tale of Two Sisters(which I've seen). I guess I assumed they were all telling a similar story. Why would the American remake discard the Korean title but then choose the title of a classic horror? Weird.

Placed some holds at the library and updated my Netflix queue. Going to do a quick sweep of Youtube and then I'm totally ready to get this thing started.

Mas Negro Que La Noche is out today. Think it was missing from Chad's list of theatrical titles.
