I'm better now. Stressful week. A day off is just what I needed, and this is actually not so bad without having to worry about anything else.

Ironically I just may be throwing it after all ...in the garbage. My desktop monitor seems to be on its last legs.

Underground actually moved to Saturday nights (Madhouse and House of Wax tomorrow), although I wish they'd go back to Fridays. Love the new intro though.

Thanks for reconsideration of the Mass Marathon, Chad. I just was thinking about it that morning and it seemed to fit so perfectly. I'm very excited about the possibilities. Don't stress! Can't wait to see the final schedule. There's really no way to go wrong with so many great themes this year.

Anyone getting the new Halloween box set? Had a few questions. Seems like every year when I make a purchase of the new DVDs/blu-rays of a series, the box set comes out the next year. Last year got some new Halloween blu-rays and low and behold, the box set comes out this year.

Decided against buying this just because I own all of these (except part 3) on blu-ray already and there's so much other stuff I want to buy this season. Looks like a fine set, but I'm trying to expand the titles in my collection that I don't already own.

Awesome! Like I said before, this is just a small fraction of local theaters/drive-ins advertised double (or multi) features in newspapers. There are countless more scattered all over the internet if you have the time and patience to seek them out.

I see Godzilla's Revenge listed on there. Now I'm not sure, but wasn't that more childhood fantasy than horror? A lonely boy fantasizing about romping with Minya on Monster Island.

Same here. The matching to $85 from Amazon Canada is tempting; but I own most of them on BD (and some multiple times on DVD) and the set will probably be $50 by next year.
I think we've argued the G films in the past and decided they are close enough to count.

While I wasn't particularly searching for horror, I guess I started my horror watching early. Just finished Cronos for the Criterion Challenge. A good movie that was a different take on the vampire legend.

I just looked at all the movies on the double/triple feature list and noticed I owned quite a few qualifying titles.

If any of you have a Dollar General store near by, they've got the (OOP) Fly/Return-Fly double feature there for $5 (Ended up getting it) I've watched Return-Fly in a previous challenge, but haven't watched the original FLY yet. Actually, I think the last time I saw it (In it's entirety) was back in the 80's! It'll be nice re-visiting it again....Considering that it'll be the first time I'll see it in widescreen too.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I have three copies of a few of these when I count DVD. I think I have four different copies of the original Halloween and I don't even own the recent BD. In fairness, I'm not a bad candidate for this boxset because I don't own any of the Scream Factory ones, but I also have to realistic. I haven't even watched that film once on BD since I got the first one for only about 7 bucks. I never did get around to the blu-ray box sets of Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm St. either, but I'm content to wait on titles that I have so many copies of already.

Getting back to the challenge topic, though, I think I really need to check out some commentaries this year for any films that I re-watch this Octobe, like a couple of the Halloweens, since I've not opened my Anchor Bay copies of 4 or 5 that I bought over a year ago.
