The Jeffersons Complete Series (12/9/14)

From early 1975 to mid-1985, after being spun off from All in the Family, there were 11 seasons and 253 episodes of The Jeffersons. George's chain of dry-cleaning businesses have taken off, and so he and his wife "Weezie" (Louise Jefferson) are "movin' on up, to a de-luxe apartment in the sky." They've hired a maid, Florence, and their son Lionel is dating Jenny, daughter of the upstairs neighbors, a mixed-race married couple named Tom and Helen. Another neighbor, Harry Bentley, is an odd fellow from the U.K, and Ralph the Doorman is often around to help. The sitcom was wildly funny, but - like All in the Family - it would deal with controversial issues of the era.

A Deee-luxe edition must have the pilot, which was an episode of All in the Family ("The Jeffersons Move Up).

Has anyone picked this up? I'm wanting to get it before it's out of print, which hard to tell when releases like this will be.

I wouldn’t mind getting this as well as the complete series of All in the Family at some point. I do like a lot of the classic Norman Lear shows.

Be careful with the All in the Family complete series set; Walmart has one for sale that's missing the bonus disc with the various pilots on it.

Yeah, I have seen that one. Thought about getting it a couple times because it’s cheaper than the other complete series release but never looked at the extras. I have the first two seasons individually and I believe they’re bare bones (maybe there’s a couple commentary tracks on season two but I don’t remember right off hand.
