Very disappointed that this is going the Warner Archive route - and at nearly twice what I paid for the pressed sets. But the first batch of recent WA box sets were pressed and not burned, and I am hoping this will be the case with Maverick S3.

^Same here. But according to the description on both the "regular" and Warner Archive sites initial copies *will* be pressed:
So... if you want this on pressed disks be sure to order early. BUT do *not* order from the Warner Archives site. Go to the main Warner Shop where they are having a sale on pressed DVDs, or if you'd rather a BR on sale. Find and add a sale disc to your cart, search for and put Maverick S3 in your cart. Then apply the coupon:

I used the $10 off code for a final, after tax, total of $47.46 for Maverick S3 and Maverick the movie.

While I absolutely hated spending this much for S3 it's better than waiting for a sale, not getting a much better price (if at all), and receiving a MOD due to waiting for a "better" price.
