Just checked who she is, I'm planning to check out The Sleeper with her in it. Hope it is good.

So far... Jess Franco, Brian Yuzna, Wes Craven, Mario Bava, Dario Argento, Wes Craven, Dan Curtis, Stuart Gordon and Freddie Francis have been added for directors.

Elisha Cook Jr. and Jessica Cameron for actors.

And I personally added Tina Krause and Elissa Dowling, which have 119 genre films between them. The former was in Frank Henenlotter's Bad Biology and the latter in The Theatre Bizarre. Just wanted to get at least a couple more lesser known scream queens on the list. Remember you're selecting 10 out of 20, so there's always the option of skipping the indie folks.

The directors section didn't exist until 2010, but those exclusions are just downright inexcusable.

Not at all.

How about Joe Dante for directors?

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 9th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

Since you all are horror fans, I hope it's ok to post this here. I help a charity that deals with various mental health issues like eating disorders, self-esteem, depression, body image, etc. We got some cool auction items up on CharityBuzz that I put together. I'll just keep it horror related, but feel free to share with other boards, friends, websites, etc. Any help would be amazing as money raised goes towards the seminar we do for schools that educates on all these issues and even a pretty cool training for high school coaches on proper training and nutrition.

This one is with Christy Carlson Romano, famous for Even Stevens and Kim Possible, but also was in Mirrors 2:

This one is with Alyssa Lobit, who wrote and starred in Among Friends, the first movie that Danielle Harris directed. So you can always ask if how it was having Miss Harris direct her film and everything:
https://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/391505

Got some other cool horror items that haven't been put up yet like Jonathan Tiersten, who was in Sleepaway Camp and making a comeback in horror, doing a Skype call & some other random tidbits I'll post once they are up.

I'm about done putting together the movies I'm going to watch, but I'm willing to buy more if there are good deals. Has anyone noticed if Walmart or elsewhere has any good horror deals going on now?

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 9th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

Just a heads up, Cinemax is airing In Their Skin, the subset film for the 27th, in HD tomorrow and next week.

Thought this would be helpful since it isn't streaming anywhere.

Fay Wray or Robert Quarry would be some old-school actors/actresses to consider.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 9th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

Thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate it. This challenge has always had a great community around it and is one of the reasons I enjoyed it every year. It is nice having something to look forward to again. I'm even planning a trip to my storage to rummage in and find what I want to watch. I know there's a box in there with mostly all my Code Red dvds and Midnite Movies which is my main quest in recovering from that mess.

And sorry Undeadcow, wish I could take you up on that job but my degree's in film which hasn't brought me the best of fortunes as you can imagine.

Perfect. Thanks. I've been checking the DirecTV guide for horror, but this one didn't even show up searching that way. It's only listed as "suspense." Regardless, DVR is set.

I could swear that we've done Fay Wray before, but it wasn't on the list that was posted. Weird.

Just opened up a mystery bag of comics and it's full if great books for me to read next month. Some old DC House of Mystery, some current official Halloween specials of Grimm's Fairy Takes and Vertigo's anthology House of Mystery.

True; I'll definitely read less. But I'm also a slave to my Daily Checklist app, which includes Read a comic book; so I'll probably try to find 31 Halloween specials to get me through the month.

Speaking of non-movie stuff, what's the consensus on horror video games or non-scary stuff, like an MST3k episode riffing on a (very bad)horror movie?

Just got the last Halloween blu-ray disc on best buy that came out Tuesday. Any idea if this is the best version, special feature wise, to own?

Maybe you could do a video game as an optional actvity, but this is a movie challenge, just IMO. The checklist includes watching an MST3K episode, as well as Rifftrax, Cinematic Titanic or a horror hosted film.

@Trevor, that is a cool grab of comics. Where does one get a mystery bag? I need to check out my local comic shop, I guess.

Not for this challenge but just saw where Nosferatu- The Vampyre (1979) will be released in the spring of 2014. Just saw the trailer and it's looks very good. Dark and spooky. Wish that I had it now.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 9th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

I'm starting to go through my DVDs and trying to decide what I want to start with for the challenge. Won't be a Criterion crossover as I've already used up my supply of criterion eligible horror DVDs. So I'll probably start with a B&W movie from the MC Horror Classics 50 movie set that I have been going through lately, but it isn't set in stone. I'm curious to see what other people might be starting with.

Alright, looks like we have enough entries for directors, makeup artists, composers, producers and writers. Right now we really need more actor suggestions.

I'm starting with Island of Lost Souls for the Criterion Crossover.

How about Ray Milland and Brinke Stevens? They each have enough credits to be stand-alone choices.

Others that you could offer an "or" option for would be Allison Hayes, John Ashley, Marlene Clark, Stella Stevens, and Carol Lynley.
