Yeah, I might have to shuffle a few things around, but I'll figure something out.
BTW, are there any other themes it would fit under besides Crazy/Psychotronic, Comedy and Possession?
And for those that speak Hindi (who doesn't?), a dubbed version is available on YouTube:

Thanks! I did. I stalked the horror challenge threads for a couple years, making my own lists and playing along, but I always remembered mid-October. Finally got here early enough this year to officially join in.

Wow! Blacula was the most discussed daily film last year?! That was my pick! I remember part of my thinking for choosing that film last year was that it was airing on Cinemax (I think it was Cinemax ...) a couple times at the end of September and a few more during October. I think that's an avenue that people should keep in mind.
I do think trying to match all the theme nights complicates things as well. I'm not saying we shouldn't do that, but it does limit the titles one might ordinarily suggest. Or it could go the other way by forcing people to take the shotgun approach: tossing out a bunch of titles in hopes that one will hit.
The last couple of years, it seems to be a trend that subset picks are ones that I saw for the first time the previous year, so I can relate.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 9th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3
Specifically:
Universal
Frankenstein (1931)
Bride of Frankenstein (1932)
The Wolf Man (1941)
The Mummy (1932)
Dracula (1931)
The Invisible Man (1933)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
and some of the sequels (or all of them if you really like Universal Horror)
Hammer
The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
Frankenstein Created Woman (1965)
The Horror of Dracula (1958)
Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966)
The Mummy (1959)
The Curse of the Werewolf (1961)
The Gorgon (1964)
The Devil Rides Out (1968)
The Vampire Lovers (1970)
Twins of Evil (1972)
Then there's the original Halloween, the Roger Cormen/Vincent Price "Poe Cycle" films, anything from Val Lewton, The Fly original and remake, Carpenter's The Thing and the original The Thing from Another World, Alien, Fright Night (1985), The Exorcist, The Shining, An American Werewolf in London, Psycho, The Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead II, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Shaun of the Dead, Last House on the Left, Black Sheep, Night of the Demon, The Wicker Man, and many more...

Has anyone heard anything about the different Miramax Halloween Blu-rays? Any picture quality differences in the single-movie version versus the double feature versus the triple feature? I was thinking of picking one up but wasn't sure of the differences, if any.

while i get why it was always preferred so more people have access to it...having them coincide with the daily theme doesn't help either.

Easy solution: pick the 33 subset films first, then pick themes that fit.

I don't know, maybe. Regardless, it's on the back burner. And by that I mean I'll bring it up in the next planning thread. Don't even wanna think about it now.

If I understand correctly only the Alliance releases from Canada have the original aspect ratio.

That's why it's called a challenge.

We're getting there. As you can see I shuffled a few around and had to go with some alternate picks. Let me know if you're unhappy with your pick and I'll see what I can do.

Evil families...can we do some sort of Manson movie or House of 1000 Corpses? And Splat Pack, is that the Roth, Zombie, etc directors or something else?

I'm watching house of 1000 corpses for the first time during either the evil families or splat pack theme night most likely so I second using this movie as a subset idea.

I had added my picks to my original post, but I probably should have just made a separate post. I suggested Severance or Battle Royale, both of which are currently streaming on Netflix. I can throw out some more titles (not necessarily streaming) if neither of those works for whatever reason.

They're all crap. I'd suggest importing the Alliance triple feature of 6-8 from Canada. It's been said that it is a solid release and blows the Mirimax/Echo Bridge releases out of the water. I just got it in this week and hope to check it out soon.

So, Crazy/Psychotronic, Comedy or Possession.
I think for next year an amicable split is probably in order. Having the two lists merge is great and all, but it's somewhat of a headache to assemble. I'd love to go back to the days of picking whatever you want minus the restrictions.

I'd say any of the classic Universal Horror titles as well as any of the classic Hammer Horror titles.
Specifically:
Universal
Frankenstein (1931)
Bride of Frankenstein (1932)
The Wolf Man (1941)
The Mummy (1932)
Dracula (1931)
The Invisible Man (1933)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
and some of the sequels (or all of them if you really like Universal Horror)
Specifically:
Universal
Frankenstein (1931)
Bride of Frankenstein (1932)
The Wolf Man (1941)
The Mummy (1932)
Dracula (1931)
The Invisible Man (1933)
Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)
and some of the sequels (or all of them if you really like Universal Horror)
The Blu-ray collection of the main films is fairly pricey, but the 75th Anniversary DVD of Dracula is currently just $8, while The Mummy is $7.89.
Hammer
The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
Frankenstein Created Woman (1965)
The Horror of Dracula (1958)
Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966)
The Mummy (1959)
The Curse of the Werewolf (1961)
The Gorgon (1964)
The Devil Rides Out (1968)
The Vampire Lovers (1970)
Twins of Evil (1972)
The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
Frankenstein Created Woman (1965)
The Horror of Dracula (1958)
Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966)
The Mummy (1959)
The Curse of the Werewolf (1961)
The Gorgon (1964)
The Devil Rides Out (1968)
The Vampire Lovers (1970)
Twins of Evil (1972)
Then there's the original Halloween, the Roger Cormen/Vincent Price "Poe Cycle" films, anything from Val Lewton, The Fly original and remake, Carpenter's The Thing and the original The Thing from Another World, Alien, Fright Night (1985), The Exorcist, The Shining, An American Werewolf in London, Psycho, The Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead II, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Shaun of the Dead, Last House on the Left, Black Sheep, Night of the Demon, The Wicker Man, and many more...
The Val Lewton Horror Collection is $27 currently, while the original and remade Fly can be had together for $8-15

Since my pick has been switched out, I'd love to take the Evil Families theme and use "Blood Diner", if possible.
That is, however, only if jacob_b is hosting "In Their Skin" for the Home Invasion theme as it states in Chad's recent post, and not using "House of 1000 Corpses" as he has recently suggested.
