The TCM schedule has been updated on the main page:
The website is bad about mislabeling genres sometimes ("Captain Nemo And The Underwater City" is NOT horror, TCM!), so let me know if anything's missing or doesn't belong.
Looks good this year.

And I'll post what I have for theme nights so far either tonight or tomorrow.

How 'bout a Theme Night about haunted/scary/evil modes of transportation? You could call it "I Wouldn't Take That Ride If I Were You," and some of the films that might be included could be Ghost Ship, Terror Train, Taxi Tonight, The Midnight Meat Train, Mr. Wrong (aka Dark of the Night, not the Ellen DeGeneres movie), et cetera.
If you don't want to make it a theme night, you could pull out one or several for the checklist: Takes place on a ship, takes place on a train...
And speaking of the checklist, how about an item for a movie featuring a decapitation?
I'm just throwin' ideas out there, seein' what'll stick.

And I've already got the last one covered with "BatShitCrazy Films". Definitely a weekend theme.
For theme nights, I'd like to suggest Native American horror. For the checklist, maybe one of my favorite scream queens, like Lisa Langlois or Jill Schoelen.

Theme night or checklist..."Below the depths, underwater terrors". Sure we've had that before, but it's a nice one to revive.

Last year I did boob count, the year before was all first time viewings. What should I do this year?
I was kind of thinking about a banner where each time I watch a movie I steal a character or scene from the movie and add it. But that idea is pretty much just a rip off of Chad's banner.

My favorite so far:

And since I'm desperate for new ones, I might add decapitation to theme nights. The IMDB search came up with over 500 films.
Recently devirginized death count? Yeah, I got nothing.

And sorta crisscrossing between lists here, but I did forgot to mention the checklist change. I'm implementing the feedback from last year ---> upping the actors, directors, etc. times 2 (20 actors, you still check off 10).
We could still add at least 10 new actors, maybe a couple of more obscure ones and fill the rest with more mainstream names from earlier checklists. Something like that.
Also, we need 30 people to volunteer for the subset picks. The earlier the better. I was planning on moving on to the subset list right after theme nights.
Where is everybody, BTW? Seems awfully quite in here lately.

If you're still looking for more ideas for the theme nights, here's a few more I had in mind besides body horror...
1. Possessed Vehicles
2. Female Killer/Villain
3. Home Invasion
4. Killer Clowns
5. Torture Porn
I don't think any of these themes have been used yet either and I'm all for trying out new ones.
Also, count me in again for the subset picks

I have always been afraid to do the horror challenge, but since I am not working right now I may try it. I could watch 1-3 movies a day.

Chad, is there any way that we could get Val Lewton added to the checklist? I think that a theme night might be too limiting, as he only produced seven horror films (at least according to the IMDB), but there's always a Lewton film or four showing during October.
I'll also volunteer for a subset pick again.

Thanks for volunteering ...3 down ...27 to go.
Thank you! Especially for number 3.
Welcome aboard.
Yes! In fact, that works out perfect--I recently added a "Produced By" category with Dino De Laurentiis and needed another.
I picked it up during the last Criterion sale and been saving it for this ...minus one movie I snuck in for the Sci-Fi challenge.
I thought as much. It's just that, despite this forum being a little desolate over the past few years, this challenge has always remained active. In fact, we had more activity than ever last year. Just don't wanna see that change.
KT goes very well with the crazy theme.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 9th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3
Okay, as promised, here's some of the new themes being considered. Didn't have time to link them, but they all provide more than enough choices (I'll make it look all pretty later):
"Inspired By True Events" Horror (The Conjuring, Psycho, The Town That Dreaded Sundown, The Entity)
Family-Friendly Horror (The Monster Squad, The Gate, Gremlins, Lady in White)
Aquatic Horror - Yes, we had "Jawsploitation" in the past, but this covers more ground.
Peter Cushing Centennial
Body Horror (David Cronenberg films, From Beyond, Tetsuo, The Iron Man, Altered States)
Telephone Horrors - anything where a ringing telephone is a plot point, although it doesn't have to be the central theme. (Black Christmas, The Caller, 976-EVIL, Pulse)
B&W Horror Films - replaces what was going to be 1950's horror.
Killer Dolls / Puppets
BatShitCrazy Horror Films (Hausu, Mystics in Bali, The Stuff, Killer Condom)
Ice Terrors - films with snow and ice; Christmas-themed films obviously play a big part. (Pontypool, The Thing, Curtains, Let the Right One In)
Home Invasion Horror (The House by the Cemetery, You're Next, Torso, Lady in a Cage)
Death by Decapitation - The IMDB lists over 500 films.
And considering combining some smaller ones like Hoodie Horror and Occult Detectives.
Good so far?
And if any suggestions weren't included, other than forgetting it's probably because it was already used in the past or just didn't provide a big enough list of films. If it's the latter there's there's always the chance it could be paired alongside another theme ("vs" / "-or-").
________________________________________________________________
As far as returning themes go, let me know what you want to return.
Horror/Comedy Films have gotten a couple of votes already.
And there's the few that always stick around like Halloween-related and Werewolves (to coincide with the full moon).
Instead of unnecessarily posting all of the old ones, here's a link to last year's list with links to all of the previous lists.

Do we pick a subset night or do we volunteer and get randomly assigned a movie? Last time I did it I already had a movie. Of course we could just all watch Death Bed again...
And for Dolls/Puppets, Trilogy of Terror would be great for the terrifying doll and the tribute to Karen Black.

I'm trying to think of interesting themes and one I came up with that could be cool if there are enough options... how about takes place at a carnival... Off hand I can only think of a couple but I know there are plenty more that are slipping my mind at the moment.
Also, I'll be more active in this thread when I get September's discs I need to review out of the way. I'm falling behind on them.

Chad, count me in as a volunteer for a subset film.
Also, have we done Theme Park/Carnival Attractions as Theme Night? Lots of possibilities there like The Funhouse, Jaws 3-D, Carnival of Souls, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Piranha DD, House on Haunted Hill, etc.

^Alright, that's 6 down and 24 to go.
Right now I'm just looking for volunteers more than anything. Since the idea is to sync it up with theme nights I was gonna wait to ask for picks until that's finalized, but if anyone wants to throw out a few now that's fine.
Looking back it doesn't appear we've ever used Trilogy of Terror.
That could work. Bladz mentioned killer clowns earlier, so a Killer Clown / Carnival / Circus / Theme Park hybrid sounds like a winner.
Edited to add Theme Park.
And theme parks! Sorry, I missed your post.

Well count me in as a volunteer. I can take Trilogy of Terror if you'd like.
