Maverick Season 2 04/23/13

Go "all in": for fans of classic TV Westerns, Maverick: The Complete Second Season comes to DVD! James Garner stars as a card shark traveling the Old West with a sense of humor and a knack for getting into trouble. Wisecracking ladies' man Bret Maverick (Garner) and his more serious brother Bart (Jack Kelly) - two handsome bachelors on the loose in the Wild West - have more success at the game of poker than the game of love. Yet they keep trying their luck in one frontier outpost after another. Though these cardsharps would just as soon slip out of town quietly as face a gunman, when it's time for a showdown, don't bet against a Maverick!

After putting out the first season set last May, today Warner Home Video has announced that Maverick - The Complete 2nd Season is coming to DVD on April 23rd. Priced at $39.98 SRP, this 6-disc set includes 26 episodes. Those episodes include appearances by Jay Novello, Martin Landau, Dan Blocker, John Dehner, Walker Edmiston, a pre-"Beau" Roger Moore, Pat Crowley, Clint Eastwood, Robert Conrad, Louise Fletcher, Connie Stevens, Adam West, and many others. Here's a disc-by-disc breakdown of the episodes, followed by the package art:
Disc 1:
The Day They Hanged Bret Maverick
The Lonesome Reunion
Alias Bart Maverick
The Belcastle Brand

Disc 2:
High Card Hangs
Escape to Tampico
The Judas Mask
The Jail at Junction Flats

Disc 3:
The Thirty-Ninth Star
Shady Deal at Sunny Acres
Island in the Swamp
Prey of the Cat

Disc 4:
The Spanish Doctor
Holiday at Hollow Rock
Game of Chance

Disc 5:
Two Beggars on Horseback
The Rivals
Duel at Sundown
Yellow River
The Saga of Waco Williams

Disc 6:
Brasada Spur
Passage to Fort Doom
Two Tickets to Ten Strike
The Strange Journey of Jenny Hill

Very happy to see them continue with the series. I blind bought Season 1 and recently watched it when the power was out for a week. Looking forward to Season 2.

I'm quite intrigued by this. I watched the first episode of season 1 but couldn't really get into it. I might try again though. It's always good to see these old classics released though, even if they don't 100% appeal to me.

Sweet, I really like the cover art. I've kinded burned out on collecting the classic western dvd seasons. I haven't even bothered with the last couple of releases of Gunsmoke. There are just too many.

It's one of the few Western shows I really love.
