Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

My checklist was done with duplicates. I was then going to start doing it again without duplicates but gave up on that. Only mentioning this since it says without dupes in the stats.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

Alright the results are in!
First of, another fine job as usual by Chad and all his dedicated time to the challenge. Great work on the stats and handing out prizes.
I'm happy I won a prize but little did I know it was for most impressive list. 3rd place. Never thought I will win in that dept seeing all those great list you guys had. Took time snapping screenshots while watching the movie. My key was to reflect a good image of the movie taking place as I'm watching it live. Don't know how much time consuming was that as a I had to rewind a few times and upload the pics often. Hope you guys enjoyed the pics.
finally, thanks to anyone who voted for me if that was the way to determine the winner..
Until next gang, SUPPORT HORROR.

Thanks, Chad for running the most satisfying challenge of the year! You have put in a herculean amount of work, and while you were recovering from surgery. Bravo, indeed!

Congrats to all the winners, and onward to October 2013!

I cannot believe I won something. I never win anything. Awesome.

Thanks for the hard work Chad! This is the only challenge I do and I always look forward to it. It's always fun to lose sleep and watch a ton of horror with you guys. Until next year!

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

Whaddya say, folks, why don't we all chip in and hire Chad to do the stats for all the challenges!!!

That is some impressive work, dude.

Congratulations to the winners--and to everybody who participated in what is clearly the most popular challenge on this board.

I'm not as committed to the horror genre as most of you, but I did enjoy what I watched and only wish I could have watched more. Maybe when I retire in a couple of years I can plunge wholeheartedly into all the checklists and theme nights and such and compete for real. (October 2015, I'm looking at you!)

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

Thanks to Chad and all the sponsors for another fantastic year. This is something I look forward to every year, this time being No. 5 for me, and I think it is worth mentioning all of the other people who aren't members of this board, don't technically participate in the challenge but also look forward to this every year. My friends have really embraced the challenge over the years as well, which is good considering how much time my friends spend at my house.

But anyway, it was actually one of my friends who asked about the results that spurred me to go check for it. It had just been posted Friday night, but I didn't have time to really look at it yet. Great job as always.

I still can't believe how much I watched this year. I think 15 is my highest finish. Plus, I kept my streak alive in winning a prize. Not that I participate for that, but it's always fun to win something!

Hey, I'm one of those three people! Thanks for sponsoring. Between this prize and the Kino Blu-ray sale at DeepDiscount, there should be quite a lot of horror passing through my mailbox.

Chad, as always, your devotion to this challenge is unparallelled. You truly are the heart of this website.

Thanks to everyone else who participated as well. Looking at everyone else's lists, I discovered some great new gems this year. My vast horror collections continues to grow.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

Beautiful job on the stats Chad! Except for the watching movies part, I think the results/stats are my favorite part of any challenge and you have so many interesting ones and the presentation is excellent. 10,000 movies viewed will make a great group goal for next year.

Thank you so much for all the work you put in before, during and after the challenge and I hope the rest of your recovery goes as quickly and painlessly as possible. Also thanks to all who provides prizes this year and everyone who participated. Even though there were times I could barely keep up with the discussion thread it was always fun and interesting.

Jeez and he even tallied my list for me when I was too lazy/insensitive to do so. Thanks Chad!

Hamilton's prizes went out today, and congrats to all who won!

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

Great job as usual, Chad. Thanks for running this Challenge (and thanks to the many sponsors, and congrats to all the winners).

If I'd known you were going to add up the decades viewed, I'd have counted my own and added that to my list. I'll try to remember to add that next year, along with all my previous years (which I know I have somewhere in a text file, because I remember adding them all up).

I also got my prize, Troma Rising, in the mail yesterday. It was sent priority mail from California (where I live) so I figure others with the same prize should be getting theirs soon.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

Reading this thread is getting me in the mood to watch horror again. I know of a couple horror holiday movies for the horror challenge I have access too, and there are the non holiday horror films I bought for the challenge but never got around to watching. Event Horizon, Army of Darkness, Silent Hill, Halloween 2 and 3, the originals, the rest of the movies in the 50 movie Horror Classics Set, and others, like all the Gamera movies.

Got The Hammer Vault book today, it's a very nice archive coffee table book. Many thanks to Hamilton Books for the donation and again to Chad for running the challenge!

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

Thanks so much for everything you do for this challenge, Chad. Congratulations to all of the winners. Eighth place, woohoo!

Maybe next year I can actually get around to doing all of the subset challenges and even participate in the discussion thread. I always intend to but never seem to find the time in between just watching movies.

I received my prize today. Thanks Chad, Mondo Macabro and everyone who donated/sponsored the challenge.

I've never seen Alucarda before, and will certainly watch it soon since I heard it's a wild film.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 8: The Results Thread

Got my prize in the mail today as well. Can't thank Chad for organizing this even enough, as well as a major thank you to Mondo Macabre for the prize.

Never seen Girl in Room 2A, but I enjoyed all the flicks I've seen so far that Mondo Macabre put out.
