The quality of this set blew but it was worth it for not having to pony up for those long OOP and crazy expensive disc (with the same transfer).

You may be able to find some of these titles in better quality on VHS. as for optical media; no.

No kidding? You win some and you lose some. This one I caught before it went out of print thankfully. Think I paid about $15. I have the 3 that were released on Bluray as well, including the double feature edition of Camp/Jail since it has better audio but lesser PQ than the individual editions.

Looking at the photo again, I just realized I'm missing the "It's Ernest" Complete series (I assumed it was included in the Best of Ernest Set). It's OOP, but they re-released it. The original release (shown in the above pic) was 2 discs. I've seen conflicting information as to how many discs are in the re-release (Amazon and FilmAf.com say 1 disc, while Mill Creek's website says 2 discs). Can anyone confirm the number of discs? Or if the original release uses 2 single-layer discs, while the re-release is 1 double-layer?

Btw, for anyone who missed the now OOP Best of Ernest Set, Image has re-released it under the name Ultimate Ernest Collection. It seems to have the same contents, though Amazon claims 2 discs while the original was 10. Worth checking out: amazon dot com/Ultimate-Ernest-Collection-Jim-Varney/dp/B016P0GYP8

Everytime this thread gets bumped back up I feel kind of sorry for not having bought this set, but checking its contents it looks like I have everything in it already except Dr. Otto, which you can watch for free (with commercials) on Vudu right now.

This post made me break this set out again and watch some Dr. Otto with my kiddo, I forgot how fun that movie was. On a side note Slam Dunk Ernest is picture boxed and near unwatchable (wish I had kept my solo release of that one) but we did use your advice and watched that one on Vudu.
