Sending DVDs to Troops - Restrictions?
 

I want to send some movies to our fighting men and women overseas, but I was wondering if there are any restrictions based on content and/or ratings. I know that porn (especially hardcore) is not allowed (also, they probably have tons of it already), as are things that are blasphemous to Muslims (stuff that's blasphemous to other religions is apparently OK), but are movies that include nudity or graphic violence permitted?

Examples:
Would it be okay to send a copy of The Andromeda Strain (which contains male and female nudity), since it is rated G (not even PG or PG-13)?

Are movies rated R or NC-17 okay as long as there is nothing explicit in them?

Bad Lieutenant is rated NC-17 and includes nudity (several times, all fairly brief, including non-graphic full-frontal male), an intense, disturbing rape scene (which avoids showing anything too sensitive), lots of profanity (which shouldn't be a problem, seeing as how this IS the military), and some graphic (but non-glamorous) drug use (which is apparently the primary motivation for the high rating)?

How about stuff like Eurotrip, The Hangover, Animal House, and Caddyshack? They are all R-rated and contain quite a bit of nudity, but nothing really graphic.

What about very violent movies like Die Hard, Kill Bill, Inglourious Basterds, or The Wild Bunch (all of which are R-rated)?

All of that, and anything like it are fine. Even stuff that offends Islam.

Well, truthfully, troops can already buy bootlegs of stuff that offends Islam in Islamastan, from practitioners of Islam.
