Rewatched old an old childhood favorite Clifford (1994) a couple days ago. Fun to see this again. Still had a good time with it.

I hate to say that I'm limping to the finish line. I got burnt out about a week ago for whatever reason. I'll try to watch one or 2 tomorrow that I've wanted to watch this month but didn't get around to but I was hoping to finish stronger.

And with Shrunken Heads that makes #100. This and the horror challenge are the only times I'm usually able to hit triple digits, so I revel in it.
After doing three of these challenges, I can't but wonder how many hours of needless filler material to pad the running time I've consumed? Probably enough to churn out a good 10 or so SyFy Channel movies.
I watched one where someone took a full 5 minutes to get a speedboat engine started and they literally showed every thrilling second. No editing whatseover. You'd think one could come up with more creative ways to kill time when working with a low-budget. Just throw in some gratuitous nudity or something - it's cheap, effective and helluva lot more interesting. I'd say Crown International Pictures is probably the #1 offender.

I ended up leaving early Saturday afternoon but in less than 3 hours I caught 10 crabs and 14 clams. Once the sea lions showed up and start stealing the crab bait, I called it a day.
I also came home with 60 oysters. We did a bunch of oyster shooters last night and today and then we're just going to deep fry the rest. Last night we ran out of lemon juice so my wife went to Wal-mart. They told her they don't carry it because it's seasonal . We're talking about the little plastic lemon shaped bottles. She hit the convenience store on the way back and picked it up there.

I have three films that I'm an hour away from finishing. Will try to knock those all off today.

My list is finished. Life got in the way the past 3 days. Still met my goal so I'm happy.

I'm going to be 2 shy of 50. That is, unless miracles really do happen...

Re: Third Annual Drive-In/Exploitation/B-Movie Challenge March 31-April 30 2012
I've got 2 more lined up tonight and that'll be it.
It was a smooth & happy challenge this year. Mostly because I didn't have to go to any funerals (No joke. I seemed to always lose a family member whenever the horror or exploitation challenges begin) The curse is finally lifted!
There have only been about a handful of Crown movies that I liked:
Trip with the Teacher
Policewomen
Death Machines
Pick-Up
Van Nuys Blvd
Aside from the criticized (i.e, lazy) filmmaking on them that Chad pointed out (Which I agree with) I've noticed that Crown seemed to only have white suburbia in mind for a bunch of their films. Where as AIP, New World, Independent International and others knew of the nation-wide market to please. And that's why you hear guys like Corman & Sherman telling stories of the box-office business that they were able to generate!

I capped off the month with Mr. No Legs, reaching my goal of 50-plus movies and exceeding my previous total by 3. Now to write the reviews...

Where did you find this, I have been passively looking for it ever since seeing it at the start of the month on Chads picture board.

I got 1 more left to go!
Hmmm. I watched it on youtube about a few months ago, but it looks like it got took down (The fight-scene is all I can find) Anyone else help?

Wound up with a total of 67, which is 20 fewer than last year's count (sick days from a case of shingles allowed me to boost the numbers back then). 34 of the 67, just over half, were first-time viewings.

Re: Third Annual Drive-In/Exploitation/B-Movie Challenge March 31-April 30 2012
Finished with 105 and I completed the checklist (except for the optional decades) without using any movie twice. I finished up with 42nd Street Forever Vol. 2 thinking it might get me psyched up for next year. It kind of worked!
I stayed up a bit too late last night so I'm sleepy but content this morning. My list will be done in a few days.
Another fun challenge.

Pretty sure this was my worst Challenge showing ever. Started two films, and had a pile of stuff on deck all month, but I'm not sure if I even finished anything that qualifies.

this month was pretty much shot, with surgery that I had done last week. really didn't have the time, attention (or energy for that matter) to do this challenge.
