I've never seen any of them (just starting to go through the new Nurses set) but this was a fun way to start it off. Not quite as sex/nudity driven as I expected but plenty of that to go along with a fun movie.

Now I'm need to find something to end the night with. Full Moon cheese seems like an okay way to end it.

I got lazy and just picked some random Troma movie off of their On Demand station... I'm paying for it. Don't ever EVER watch Slaughter Party from 2005. I've honestly been part of better productions shot around a neighborhood for a high school project.

For $5 I would have. He wanted an extra $20. Cinemawasteland is cool that way. It's one of the few Drive-in Exploitation cons. October brings Dyanne Thorne (Ilsa she wolf). She's been there before, but I never got her to sign.

Anyway, April 1 starts on a Monday next year. We can keep March 31 and get a Saturday night at midnight start and keep the 31 day challenge. After that, it won't be until 2018 before we would need March 31 for a Friday night start.

I'd like to welcome several new members and lurkers to the challenge, including a brand new member AlaskaMike.

That's pretty steep considering you're already paying for him to write his name on something.

Time to eat something and get down to some movies before my day is cut short by Wrestlemania.

off to a pretty good start and marathoned 4 first time viewings. machete maidens was interesting and got me in the mood to start things off for some horrible sci fi in Queen of Blood and the amazing-ness that is Asylum with two headed shark attack ending with a showing of reefer madness before hitting the bed.

i really dont know what direction to go in today as i had Serbian film, i spit on your grave and Forced Entry lined up for today, but don't know if im ready to jump into those yet. may take a lighter route with some full moon or bust open my mill creek sets i got for last years challenge that i never got to.

I picked up Mill Creek's Martial Arts 50 Pack for $17.99 yesterday. In looking over the titles on it on IMDB and doing a spot check on the print/transfer quality, I'm not sure this set was even worth that much.

Yeah. Elvira did the same last week, but at least I got to put my arm around her waist. I never used to get the photos until I realized that you get to put your arm around them (and they you, as well). There's a lot to be said for that.

Might be the one genre where that kinds of adds to the experience.

Document of the Dead is ok. We have checks for both of them in separate categories. Sword & Sandal is in Eurofilm and 70s porn in Sexploitation. It has to be 70s porn since it was run by the Mafia, for the most part, and was the end result of the nudie cutie films. I think we allowed in early 80s shot-on-film porn from the transition period to video. I'm kind of reluctant to just put in regular Vivid Video type porn. If there's a great need for it, I might. I was even thinking a checklist item for "Porn parody of another film", like A Clockwork Orgy or something.

Oh that goes for ALL the Nurse/Stewardess/Teacher movies. The formula always had to include some crime-action elements in them. Since each of these movies followed about 3 or 4 ladies, you could always count on one of those girls on having a storyline that involved evil politics or a drug cover-up. It might get a little tiresome to always see these themes play out, but at least it beats out boring boyfriend-issues (I'm looking at you, Private Duty Nurses)

Now The Cheerleaders, on the other hand, that's where you find your non-stop skin/sex....Especially the self-titled '73 film!

i love this challenge for getting to watch some of the classics i've never gotten around to yet. i just watched Carpenters They Live which i've wanted to see for a while. i can't figure out why Roddy Piper was picked for the role of John Nada though except for his talented and hilarious alley wrestling fight.

I've already watch my set and there's some gems in there. One, that I can't remember the name of, was just so awesome that I was thinking there's no way they could end it on a high note, compared to the rest of the film. They didn't but it was an impossible feat.

I am not sure if I don't understand your answer or if you didn't get the question because of your user name?

The movie Caligula, a check for both the aforementioned items?

Italian film about Rome
Shows penetration and more ejaculations than most porn films.

Wow... Exploitation challenge is here already?!? Count me in. Starting out by taking Henenlotter's Basket Case blu-ray out of the shrink wrap.

Oh, I completely didn't understand your question. Tinto Brass's Caligula. I suppose Roman Empire could count as sword and sandal. It's definitely 70s porn (despite the release date), if it's not the R rated cut.
I say OK.

I hope this is the correct thread to discuss films that meet the requirements of the challenge (which this is my second favorite challenge behind the Halloween horrorfest and right above the december christmas film challenge). My question regarding the challenge this year is does Tucker and Dale vs Evil qualify for this challenge or is it too mainstream/popular/(perhaps recent or well produced?) to work for it?

Defiantly not too mainstream. From everything I have seen it looks like a great fit with this challenge.

Horror is kind of tough since so much of it qualifies. Kind of cool we're at exactly the midpoint in the year from the Horror challenge. Anyway, Tucker and Dale is pretty low budget and had limited distribution. It's also Canadian. Plus, it's a really great flick. Have at it.
