Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
Thanks again, Mister Peepers! And special thanks to Hamiltonbook.com (aka GoldenWheels) for the great prizes! Should I be lucky enough to win one I don't know if I'd pick Casper or Dennis! :D

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
I actually did number, sort of. I had 92.875 entries.
|
Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
 I really wanted Dennis the Menace. Or Police Story. Or Kojak...
Congrats to the winners! Thanks to Mister Peepers for running the Challenge. I had a great time watching Starsky & Hutch and Bob Newhart again (I'm looking forward to watching season three of both next Jan.). And, once again, a big thanks to GoldenWheels and Hamilton Books for another group of great prizes. |

Congrats to the winners. I had a great time in this challenge. Thanks MP for running it.

what does the * mean Mister Peepers?

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
Thanks again Mister Peepers! And a very big thanks to GoldenWheels (Hamilton Books) for prizes!
I enjoyed this one so much that I put off participating in the Academy Awards challenge until I'd completed watching the entire run of Farscape. It had been a couple of years since I'd watched *any* episode of that series. It was quite nice to watch it all again. And, yeah... what *does* the "*" in the listings indicate? |
Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
You missed a few entrants. I didn't see myself, Emma311 or Trevor mentioned.

Added in. When I drew for prizes, I didn't care if you counted or not. As long as something was watched, you were good for an entry. |
Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
As I was looking through the list, I wondered how BobO'Link had managed to watch almost 500 hours in a month (that would mean 20 days of television in 31 days). Then I realized, the tallying for entries was based on one entry being one hour, not two hours, as I had been calculating.
Based on the actual tallying system, I really had 185.75 Entries. Sorry for the mistake Mister Peepers. |
Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
Thanks Mister Peepers for hosting yet another awesome challenge and thanks GoldenWheels for the Kojak prize! I'm in it for the viewing Mister Peepers so if you or anyone else wants the Kojak DVD they are welcome to it.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
Police Story Season One! Just in time for the Action/Adventure/Crime Challenge! Thank you!
I'll PM GoldenWheels. |

Yeah, it's that oddball counting for this one. It's actually a bit less than what I did for the Sci-Fi and Horror ones which surprised me a bit. I really thought it'd be significantly more considering the format and the ease of throwing in a half hour episode of something. |

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
I just made it into the 150+ club. Watched some really great television and revised a couple of shows that had been gathering dust on my shelf. Thanks for hosting, Mister Peepers! Congratulations to all the winners! I cannot wait until next year.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
^Yeah, I didn't get that burnout feeling for this one either. By the end of the horror one I truly felt drained and almost didn't do the comedy one for that reason. But the change of genre really helped keep me going. Even then I didn't hit the Holiday one very hard just because of those 3 back-to-back challenges. I'd never really given any thought to being able to easily mix genres with this one and it helping avoid that burnout feeling. That's a good observation.

Re: January 2012 TV on DVD* Challenge Discussion Thread
Thanks for picking up the slack on this challenge, Mister Peepers. As always, I never watch as much as I want, but always have a good time.
Also, a big thanks to Golden Wheels for the prizes offered, not just in the challenge, but all of them. I never participate to win a prize, but it's always a nice bonus. |
