A Bronx Tale re-release?

Does anybody know if A Bronx Tale is going to be re-released on dvd any time soon? It's been a while now that the original dvd went oop and i would really love a 2-disc special edition of the film. Anybody have any info?

Yeah, I'd love to get a decent disc of this. Probably not until something happens with the Lillo Brancato murder charges.

I've seen Bronx Tale in the Wal-Mart $5.50 bargain bins - they are not quite OOP yet!

It seems to go OOP right when that kid got arrested for shooting a cop in NYC. Naturally, everybody wanted a copy of the film right away.

For anybody with a local FYE...they carry a line of budget DVD's ($8.88) of some recent hits, but once in a while I have seen a copy or two of A Bronx Tale in there.

I sure hope not. I love this movie. My grandfather is actually an extra in a few scenes, so that makes me want a new SE even more. I really hope someone pulls out the stops and gives us the 2-disc we all want.

I'd buy an SE in a heartbeat. One of the most underrated mob movies ever IMO. The "Come Together" scene in the biker bar is on par with Scorsese's best.

The Beatles' "Come Together" is the PERFECT song for that scene....I've never heard such a better fit.

Re: A Bronx Tale re-release?

Any update? I am not even asking for a fancy 2 disc, or a blu. Just a re-release! NETFIX doesn't even carry it anymore.

Haha i was actually thinking of bumping this thread right now and somebody did it for me. Haha weird! So yea does anybody have any updates on a possible re-release or new version coming out soon? I seen it available for purchase on the playstation store and they even have an HD version thats only available for rental unfortunately . I would love for them to re-release it on blu.

Re: A Bronx Tale re-release?

There's a few new transfers of old movies that are available online but not on DVD- one of my favorites "Gas Pump Girls" (parts were filmed across the street from where I work now) has never been on DVD but it's now owned by MGM, and a widescreen transfer is available for download on Amazon, or you can watch it for free with commercials on Hulu. The transfer of "Hair" they have on Hulu looks like a new 16x9 transfer too.

Re: A Bronx Tale re-release?

I was in an FYE today and there was a sign on their wall advertising that they would exclusively start carrying A Bronx Tale tomorrow. I don't have any other details, but perhaps this is the pressed disc many were hoping for.

Hmmm, I have a FYE in my neighborhood--about a half-mile from where the events in A BRONX TALE actually took place. Hopefully, my FYE will carry it. I saw Chazz Palminteri do it as a one-man show--in dress rehearsal--about 20 years ago.

He has done that recently.

FYI, FYE has this now. I saw it today. It is a Focus Features, feature. No extra features. 'twas $12.99

I have the Amazon MOD copy which looks like garbage. How does this release look?
