So is a Growing Pains complete DVD box set dead?

Loved the show back in the day and for some reason decided to look it up on DVD to purchase only to find Season 1 was released in '06 and Season 2 just this past April...5 years later!! I've read articles dated back to 2006 that said there would most likely be no S2 due to poor S1 DVD sales but here we are this year with S2. Any articles on the fate of all 7 seasons on DVD? I don't find anything googling.

I did find a site that sold the "complete 7 seasons" on 20 discs but I'm assuming of course its not legit and just all the crappy quality VHS or some kinda rip put on to store bought DVDR?

Yeah, I bought a Wonder Years like that as there is no way this will ever come out on DVD. I could have just recorded Wonder Years as it's now back on TV, but for 15-20 bucks, couldn't complain. I always wondered that about Growing Pains as well. Had no clue that Season 2 FINALLY came out. I think it might be safe to say that the other seasons probably will have a slow release, if any. It took Boy Meets World to be bought out by another company for their final DVDs to finally come out.

They want $85 for all 7 seasons of GP...i'd rather see a sample from their site before spending that much. If it was $10 bucks...then no problem.

Vice, be careful from ordering from such sites as they could just be DVD-Rs copied from TV broadcast or cable stations with or without commercials and 9 out of 10 times, the quality sucks on them. Just be very careful when buying something like this from a website you might not know anything about, especially when it comes to their guarantees and such. I agree a lot of these shows might not see the light of day in 2012 and beyond.

Yeah, I wouldn't touch that. $85 bucks is not worth it when you can take a chance to just torrent it and put it on a disc yourself, which is probably just as legal.

werd, i wont be ordering anything from any types of non-legit services like that only to get sub-par quality...just disappointed they've only released 2 seasons so far.

Of course they have no problem giving us the made for television movies on DVD.....Eh.....

From TVShowsonDVD.com

For 7 seasons, Growing Pains - starring Alan Thicke, Joanna Kerns, Kirk Cameron, Tracey Gold, Jeremy Miller and Ashley Johnson - was on the air, with ABC network's popular show about the Seaver family. The series finale aired in 1992, but in 2000 and again in 2004 there were reunion telefilms, bringing back the cast in "The Growing Pains Movie" and "Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers". The first two seasons of the regular series are available in stores on DVD, but Warner isn't waiting to bring you those post-show efforts.

On December 6th, the studio's manufacture-on-demand (MOD) program, the Warner Archive, will begin shipping DVDs for each of those telefilms, sold separately for $19.95 SRP each. You can pre-order both The Growing Pains Movie and also Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers right now, however, at a discount. At this time they are only available from the studio's online store, WBshop.com, but they are expected to also be available after a while from Amazon's CreateSpace MOD program (which will open it up to international fans, since WBshop only ships to U.S. addresses). Package art and other details haven't been finalized yet, but stay tuned for updates!

If they're giving us the tv movies, hopefully this means that they'll give us more seasons of the show.

I'd love for them to release Season 4.

I'd be perfectly happy with Season 3 and 4 as MOD titles. I pre-ordered the TV movies, I actually never saw the second one from 04.
