We bought the first seven 3-disc box sets, then the complete blue box. Not sure if the wife will want to triple dip (she's the protoculture addict in the family).

Geez....I don't know who milks their franchises more...Funimation with DBZ or Harmony Gold with Robotech.

Wouldn't mind an uncut/unedited Macross re-release, though. Certain volumes of the Animeigo and ADV sets were produced in much smaller quantities than the others, making buying a complete set today nearly impossible (or just very expensive).

Yeah, they're pretty rare but definitely worth it if you can track them down. Try Amazon or ebay.

I've already got box sets of the first 60 eps. (Macross Saga and Masters). Total cost was, like, $30. So I would only be interested in the final saga (New Generation), eps. 61-85. They sell it separately, but for more than I paid for the previous sets combined!
