Castle! Too bad it's like the latest release in this cycle.
And I cringe to think of spending any more time on Desperate Housewives than I already have during broadcast. -ohbfrank- |

Re: ABC announces DVD release Dates for 2010/11 Season
And no Blu-rays, yet again. I'll be passing on all of these. Figured Body of Proof would at least get one since it's the First Season and all, maybe even Castle since Bones does alright on Blu-ray. Oh well. Disney is happy not getting my money until Castle S3 is $10 or less.

Of those listed, the only ones I would buy would be Castle and maybe Body of Proof. But I would want them on Blu or for $10 or less.

From the link you provided: "For those who are curious, no mention was made of a Blu-ray edition for this title"
I know all these ABC shows are already shot in HD, so it really doesn't make sense why they can't make BD's for them. However, even if there were BD releases for them, would people here be willing to pay $30-40 for them?? I assume since most people in this forum are cheap by nature, they would probably wait for price drops to $25 or less anyways. That's probably the main reason why TV on BD in general are poor sellers. Noone wants to pay $30-40 for them. |

Re: ABC announces DVD release Dates for 2010/11 Season
TV on Blu-ray is a little more expensive than I'd like, but it's something that I'm very interested in. My main hesitation, more than price, is worrying that I'll buy a season of a show on Blu-ray, and then they'll stop releasing it on Blu-ray afterwards.

Still no release for Better Off Ted Season 2 is embarassing. It's one of my favorite comedies.

Brothers and Sisters Castle Desperate Housewives Grey's Anatomy Private Practice really came into its own with the charotte episode this season have watched all Body of Proof so far since enjoy many of the cast but doubt I would revisit Not sure these shows would benefit from Blu, plus rebuying prior seasons is not something that interests me. I have the Complete Lost on Blu and love it. Also the majority of veiwers watching these probably aren't into Blu Also I have noticed the ABC studio shows don't seem to go on sale as much or as cheap as say Warner or Fox. It is the one studio I wait for about $20/season compared to $10-15. Last Fall they went on sale when you could still found coupons for different sets so hopefully will luck out again Even though its Fox would also love Better off Ted its not even many episodes would probably get cheap fast |

Re: ABC announces DVD release Dates for 2010/11 Season
Agreed: ABC properties are definitely less aggressively priced than other studios' stuff.

Re: ABC announces DVD release Dates for 2010/11 Season
I'll grab DH at $20.00

Re: ABC announces DVD release Dates for 2010/11 Season
Yeah, I picked up Castle last year when it hit about $20

Re: ABC announces DVD release Dates for 2010/11 Season
Just wait a few weeks after they initially come out and they'll also have those instant saving coupons they usually include in buying such sets. October should be just about right.

Re: ABC announces DVD release Dates for 2010/11 Season
I know season 4 of Grey's had a Blu release and am not surpised it didn't sell well. I think most of the viewers of the above shows are woman and few of my single female friends have a Blu player let alone buy alot of movie or tv shows. Also ABC/Disney is not competive on their pricing. Most of my Blu tv series are Warner. I did buy the Complete Lost on Blu when amazon had the black friday sale, but I also thought it would look awesome in HD.
