Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
Bought the complete Hercules TV series a few years ago, brand new and all sealed. Finally got to the fifth season and discovered I have 2 copies of disc 4 and no disc 6! Retailer can't/won't help, does anyone know if it's possible to get single discs anywhere, or download the missing episodes #16-18 from somewhere?

Re: Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
Try contacting the distributors, if they're still in business. Unless you bought this complete boxed set from an ebay seller, in which case I suspect you're out of luck.

Re: Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
Similar thing happened to me at Christmas when I got one of The Simpsons Seasons brand new, and one of the Discs weren't in it. Is there no way you can buy Season 5 second hand just for that disc?

Re: Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
I had it happen to me with a WWE DVD set. I got two of the third disc, so I took it back to Wal-Mart and exchanged it for a new one. Always double-check your discs to make sure you have one of each after you receive or buy it...just food for thought.

Re: Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
I also had it happen once with a season set of Scrubs, purchased at Wal-Mart. The dumbass bitch at the customer service counter said it looked like a burned disc-clearly without having a speck of knowledge about what a burned disc even looked like. I laughed my ass off and asked her why in the hell I would go to the trouble of burning an extra copy of one of the discs when all I wanted was an even exchange.

Re: Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
The girl at Target said I was trying to scam them when I brought in my LOTR set that had 2 halves of the end of the movie. I asked her what did she think I was going to do with multiple discs of the second half of the movie and not have any copies of the first half. Then she shut up and eventually helped me.
The thing that experience taught me was to check my discs after I buy something, since I have a habit of leaving things unopened for years. |
Re: Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
I'm sure I've shared this before, but I had a sealed copy of The Andy Griffith Show (Season 1) a few years back that was a Chrismtas gift. Encountered the same problem you others described w/multiples of one disc while missing another. I had no luck finding a phone # or reaching a live person by phone so I wrote a letter to the company who put the sets out. I was quite surprised to find an entire brand new set shipped to my door within a week.

Re: Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
That's why I opened everything when I first get them, even if I'm not going to watch it for a while.

Re: Sealed boxed Set with duplicate disc!
That's the only and best way as these distributors/manufacturers have a tendency of not double-checking their work on these sets before they're wrapped in the plastic and then shipped out. It happens but not so often.
