Sorry guys, I still don't believe it's Batman's 75th anniversary, even though WB put out a entire press release about it.

Apparently that's not possible.

Maybe a mod should just lock this thread and throw away the key...

Re: Adam West says that Batman(60s) dvds may be near

Sad that Lorenzo Semple Jr. just died, he probably would have gotten a huge reception at Comic Con. Sounds like he talked a lot about the series over the years, though it would be great if he had recorded some episode commentaries before he passed away.

Here is a 2 1/2 hour interview with him about his career (recorded in 2008), fortunately it is indexed, the Batman stuff is under the Shows tab. My guess is that some of this might make it onto the DVD.

MOD NOTE: If the thread doesn't get back on topic and off of the topic of who knew what/when it just might end up that way...

So somewhat show related, Batman: The TV Stories which is a comic series based on the series comes out next week. I haven't read any of them yet but have a copy of it pre-ordered off of Amazon. Should be something interesting to check out for fans.

For those not into comics, these were new issues made in the past year. The comics from when the show originally aired are fairly bad and dated.

Actually I just got some clarification on this release. Apparently DC is doing two releases, there's the one I mentioned already Batman: The TV Stories which actually is a collection of stories that inspired certain episodes of the series and there's also Batman '66: Volume 1 which are the new stories that began last summer.

BATMAN 66 comic is usually a FUN read.
Love the ZELDA story in the #9 Print issues.
The artwork is usually hit or miss. Any time Ty Templeton is doing the art its home run.

According to TVShowsonDVD.com-Burt Ward has hinted that expect Batman(tv series) on dvd ,will be out in late November. This is ,of course, unofficial ,since WB hasn't released a statement.

If my calculations are correct this series will be slugging it out with two othrt "Hot" Shows, namely The wonder Years & Death Valley Days.

^Not at my house. The Batman TV series wins hands down *every* time! I've already started saving for what I believe will be a ugougem price.

I'm hoping your inclusion of Death Valley Days was just a joke. There's no way that one will sell anywhere near the numbers that Batman and The Wonder Years will do!

Also, since The Wonder Years is Time-Life, it may cost significantly more than Batman and might not even be available in retail stores (I bet it's like the big Carol Burnett box and only available online and via phone/TV offers), I'm sure Batman will probably even outsell Wonder Years by a significant number of units.

Has there been any confirmation as to whether this will see a blu-ray release as well? I haven't heard anything from Conan lately.

Conan said it will only be available on VHS and VCD.

I've never even heard of Death Valley Days.

I was curious enough to start reading about it on Wikipedia but I stopped because I only wanna read about it from an official source.

Brand new trailer for the Batman TV series release. It's coming in November, 2014... and in Blu-ray!

I don't believe anything that Conan doesn't tweet.

On another note, I'm dreading hearing what the price for this on Blu is gonna be.

We can't be too sure this is going to be released. I need to see a notarized written statement from three Warner executives before I believe it.

Well that is just plain idiotic. I am taking the word of the studio actually releasing this. I would suggest you do the same.

Waiting for actual confirmation. Not something posted on a comic book site. Something smells fishy. Not believing a word of it. Nope.

Being on Blu just made it a day-one must-own for me. I probably would have waited for a price cut if it was DVD-only.
