Just sold my copy on Amazon for $85, as well. It sold within 24 hours of listing, so I assume the market price is even higher. Very nice to get so much for an unwanted disc - it helps ease the blow from the recent B&N Criterion sale. Thanks for the heads up OP.

I remember watching the teleportion scene when Siskel & Ebert reviewed this film. Even though it is an animated sequence I think it still looks great.
My favorite part of the film -- the light cycle design still looks great.

I had no idea of the crazy eBay prices until I stumbled on this thread. So I googled Tron Blu-Ray and stumbled on this semi-recent article.

This is good enough for me, and my copy is being thrown up on eBay tonight. I don't think this perfect storm is going to last much longer, so it's either now or never.

Hopefully I didn't miss the chance to ride high on the wave of selling. I put mine up on eBay and we'll see what happens...

I've sold a few of these at $100+ over the past few weeks. It's always funny to me that the most profitable OOP dvds are always the ones that are temporarily mothballed to set up a duel release a couple of months down the road. The last time this happened it was Batman just prior to The Dark Knight coming out. But I have no problem parting fools from their money.
For anyone who wants one, your best bet is the FYE/Saturday Matinee/etc. chain. But they have recently raised their price on the double disc from 14.99 to 29.99, so if you're looking to flip them it's not quite as nice anymore.

I sold my scarred-up copy (not quite sure what happened to it, as I usually take really good care of my discs) for $56 on Sunday. I almost felt guilty.. Still, I'm sure that this is going to be out on blu-ray sooner rather than later, and this is certainly the kind of movie that I'd rather have on that format.

Mine sold yesterday evening for $68. I don't think I've ever sold a DVD for that much. I'm always one to hang onto my DVD's, but if I can make that much of a profit of a disc that's forthcoming, I'll do it. I just hope they don't royally screw up the Blu-ray with DNR or something. Even if they do, I'll probably be able to buy the DVD back at a fraction of what I just sold it for.
