General MOD Question - NOW KNOWN WARNER ARCHIVE USES CRAPPY SINGLE LAYER DVD'S
Is WB, CRESTESPACE, COLUMBIA AND WHOEVER using single layer dvd's or dual layer dvd's ?

Single layer at this time, although there was a blurb recently in an interview that suggested that the Warner Archive would be shifting to dual.

I think it is absolutely pathetic they are using single layer discs for 1 major reason they are releasing tv shows and movies with run times over 2 hours per disc, which means crappy bit-rates and crappy video quality warner should re-release all in dual layer and people who bought the single layer should get copies for free |

Beyond all that, keep in mind that we're talking about burnt discs here. As finicky as a single layer burnt disc can be in some players, the dual layer burnt discs can be significantly worse in a much wider variety of machines.
