for me it was seven platinum ed. and dogma. they were two out of my first five dvds ever ordered. I got them from columbia house. It was either winter 2001 or 2002.

I actually worked at Sam Goody at the time, so I had a bunch of those Lightsaber key chains. They were actually pretty nice, I thought.

They weren't all flippers. I have the 2 disc version. Is it worth any money.

I think my first 2 disc purchase was Armageddon Criterion Collection. I bought it right when it came out. When did it come out? Summer 1999 I guess? I can definately remember July 1999 was when I bought Brazil CC, the first 3 disc.

It would be helpful if someone could tell us the release dates of the earliest 2 disc sets.

I'm thinking it was ID4, but it may have been Bugs Life. I know i started collecting in early 98 and the first 2 disc SE i remember is the 2 i mentioned.

Criterion's 3-disc Brazil, in 1999 (or was it '98?), which is what made me buy a DVD player in the first place.
