Interesting challenge but with a newborn and 4 year old its hard to get in 1 a day though working part time right now allows me certain days where I can get 2 and 3 films viewed. ...Unless I can count watching Toy story 1 & 2 a 1000 times in the last few weeks!!!

It's probably best to keep our lists in those established threads. Everyone posting a personal list in a separate thread would be kind of silly and unwiedly.

We already have dozens of people doing this in the monthly unwatched and the weekly what are you watching threads.

I agree. Not to mention that it could make these threads exceptionally long to read through. For my list, I actually started a blog at Blogspot. I post the movie poster/dvd cover to make it a bit more interesting than a plain list.

No disrespect Fruit, this idea is really cool and this thread was a great place to share that part of it. We're just giving you advice on where to focus it and list your viewings. This thread, or personal threads for any of us, are not the most appropriate avenue to list what you watch.

Re: 1000 movies in a year(log)
this thread wont get to long, im using one post to put every movie I watch. the only way it would get long is if people talk a lot in here, which could happen but thats the point of a forum lol.

I tried to do this, started January 1st and had a blog going, I quit at 60 on January 20th - now I'm just trying to watch 1 unwatched DVD/blu-ray a day.

I will do the same thing. I will only keep my notes to myself right now and for me its just to see how many I can watch in a year. TV Show Season by Seasons counts as 1 for me.

Re: 1000 movies in a year(log)
That's kind of funny, I started up something similar a while back. I've been having a run of bad luck for a long while now and a few weeks back I came up with my own personal challenge in order to try to cheer myself up. I'm primarily a horror nut but I had been holding off from watching any horror movies since last October's challenge since I thought I would be graduating from school in September, which isn't happening now, and I would go crazy for this year's challenge in celebration. Since that plan's busted, I came up with a new plan to try to watch 500 horror movies by the end of the year. That way I get to be comforted by my favorite genre as well as still have a driving force for me throughout the October challenge.
I've been tracking them on my blog, which should be in my signature if anyone wants to read it. I'm up to about 65 movies so far but I'm behind on updating the blog simply because I've been busy watching them.
I think personal missions like this are cool (there's a guy on another forum I go to that's watching through every movie he owns alphabetically which I thought was awesome) and I always like checking up on how people are doing, so I'll definitely swing by to check out your updates. Good luck.

Re: 1000 movies in a year(log)
Ok starting today im going to try and watch 1000 movies before August 9th 2011. Ive see well over 1000 movies but not in a year, so this could be tough. They don't have to be new movies, but most will be. Im going for 50/50 really.
So maybe other people will join me, or even go for a higher number. But unless you have no job/school I doubt you can see over 1000 movies in a year.
Im thinking about adding TV shows as well, Since I watch a lot of TV shows i haven't seen I might do something like one season counts as two movies or something.

Re: 1000 movies in a year(log)
I've been averaging about 500/year since 2006 as shown in my current blog and old log...watching a 1000 would basically be impossible if you had a real job (one where you could not watch movies) and any kind of life (no offense to EdtheRipper, good luck).

None taken. My goal is a much more pedestrian 365. I'm pushing towards 300 now but I've also had a month out of work with an injury.

Re: 1000 movies in a year(log)
The last couple of years I've averaged between 3 and 4 films a day - I worked in an office where I was able to watch two DVDs a day without a problem, plus one or two a night. That's 1200 a year easily. Now I just try to watch one film every day.
