I would have to say Bandslam from last summer. It bombed at the box office and yet it's much better than the ads would lead you to believe.
The ads make it look like "Camp Rock 2" but it's clever & smartly written for a film aimed at younger teenagers. For a film written with no sex, foul language or violence it is still fairly knowledgable about music and doesn't insult the audience's intelligence. |

It got good reviews on At the Movies, so I figured if Phillips and Scott liked it it can't be that bad. I guess people were expecting another High School Musical type movie.

I don't care what anyone here says, I just love Freddy Got Fingered. I don't recommend it to a lot of people, but when I do it's a huge recommendation.

If I like something, I'm not embarassed to recommend it. However, when a film has a stigma attached to it already, then it makes a recommendation difficult at times because some people are too closed-minded to accept that it might be a good film. Under those guidelines, I'd go with The Chronicles of Riddick.

The Wicker Man. Don't get me wrong. It's a great movie. But it's one of those movies you have to get to the end to appreciate it as a whole. Because you get alot of wtf am i watching through out this movie. Is it horror? Is it a musical??

I cannot say I would recommend any of these films, I do believe I am one of two people that own Catwoman. Yes, I said it outloud, I know many of the films are okay or even bad to a point yet I can still enjoy them.

I wouldn't be embarrassed by Mean Girls. Sure, Lohan's in it, but the Tina Fey cred goes a long way these days.

IYeah, it's burn on demand but that's probably the only way you're going to see this on DVD. The transfer is fantastic and it's anamorphic widescreen. No bonus features, of course.

Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing & Charm School. If you're a guy, you cannot say the title of that movie without having your testosterone level drop a quart. It sounds like a chick flick, but it's not. To say any more about it would be a spoiler. I still will not recommend this to anyone in person because the title makes it too embarrassing, but it's a great, great move.
