Lilya-4-Ever
It needs a proper R1 release (besides an exclusive Netflix rental disc) and Criterion would be the ones to do this fantastic film justice.

"Meet John Doe" directed by Frank Capra, stars Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck. I think this ranks right there with "It's a Wonderful Life", but all the DVD pressings I've seen are public domain issues using substandard prints. Would love to see this film rightfully preserved and given its due...

Out of the stuff that they already have the rights to and have released, I would really appreciate the following getting a Blu-ray release
- Renoir's The River
- Cocteus Beauty And The Beast
- Carnival Of Souls
- Two-Lane Blacktop

I'm not entirely sure it'll happen. I don't believe Criterion has ever released an animated film. The movie's also already out on Blu-ray. For Darjeeling, Fox allowed Criterion exclusive license to release it on Blu. Also, the movie's more family friendly and mainstream than most of Anderson's other work and I don't think Fox would be willing to give it up the potential revenue from that audience. The only thing it's got going for it is that all of Anderson's other films have been released by Criterion and that the current release is kinda light on extras.

I'm really not sure what else they can release. Certainly there are many titles, but most of the ones on my list that could have benefited from Criterion have already gotten released or will be released (Days of Heaven, Thin Red Line, Paths of Glory, The Killing). Perhaps:
The Devils
Killer's Kiss
Fear and Desire (!)

Criterion released Akira on LD but I don't believe they ever released one on DVD. Heck criterion released Ghostbusters on LD, now that would be a cool one to see them release on DVD or BR

India Song (a fantastic movie in need of an English language release).
City of Women (only has a region 4 release at the moment).
I believe it was confirmed that Satyricon is receiving a Criterion release.

Just off the top of my head. Heel even proper special editions in OAR without DNR would be great.
Roeg's The Witches
Kubrick's Barry Lyndon
Welles' The Magnificent Ambersons
I sort of regret selling my Ambersons LD years ago before ripping it to DVD. Last I heard WB was sitting on Ambersons with no plans to release. What a fucking shame.
