Problems with X-Files double Pack

I have purchased and returned 3 copies of the double pack of seasons 1 and 2 of X-files to Sam's Club due to some of the discs having deep scratches in them. I am just curious if someone else has gotten this set and had the same problem. I just want to know if this is some kind of repackaging scam or if I am just having bad luck.

Were they shrink wrapped or factory wrapped?

They were shrink wrapped together but were individually factory wrapped

TV sets always seem to have more scratches on them than individual movies in my experience. My 24 Season 1 set was so badly scratched, it was a miracle that they would even play. I returned the set and received another with similar scratches, only less severe. I kept the set, not wanting to further press my luck.
