Awesome job Gatherer!
I think I'm going to check out a few of the free ones before I take the $30 plunge. My plan is this: take 30 or so of the 'rarities' of my collection and try to input them into all the choices. Whichever one can handle the most of them gets my business.

I did give up. Couldn't get either one to display my titles. Requested refund . hope I get it.

Just saw the mobile (iOS & Android) DVD Profiler is on sale for $2.99. Says 50% off, but I think I've seen it as high as $9 before.

It appears the Windows version is also on sale for $14.95. I don't recall ever seeing it on sale before. I'd fully recommend it for someone who's been on the fence regarding a purchase.

The video (and many other collectibles) cataloguing website iTrackMine.com has announced it will be shutting down on August 1st, 2016. If (like me) you have your collection listed there, they give you an option to download it before they shut off the lights... 
I still have DVD Profiler's online listing but I want a backup. Off I go to research...

Movie Collector from collectorz.zom is good with all the different versions of DVDs. Problem is that when they do new versions, you have to buy it again unless you got a license years ago where they grandfathered you in on the unlimited plan. They do have a free trial, so it can't hurt to try.
If I had to switch to something else, I'd just roll my own so I could have exactly what I wanted.

So far I've tried Eric's Movie Database (EMDB), WAY too much work involved entering details for each DVD. It would take less time to make a hand written list and scan it.
Tried Personal Video Database, looked promising, clean interface, ultimately too much work involved entering each DVD. When you bring it up the first time, you're presented with blank boxes, no explanation as to what goes where. Consulted the Help file, eventually gave up after entering 3 DVDs.
Tried Movie Organizer (MOODb), it promised to let you enter your DVDs by UPC code. That worked ONCE. It didn't recognize the UPC codes for Aeon Flux, AI, or Alien, so I said screw that. Also requires that you enter details for each DVD manually. I thought this one might have been a good alternative to having to shell out $30 for DVD Profiler, but such was not the case.
I'm going to keep searching, there are a few other possibilities in the list yet, I'm not done by any means although I fear that DVD Profiler has spoiled me. -kd5-

Aficionado will shut down on June 10. I believe you can export the collection to PDF or such so get it done now.

In an update, Film Aficionado was saved last year but problems started cropping up in the past two months at the site under new management. Some cookie problem prevents most users from logging into their collections.

So, what else is out there? I'm trying to use the Bluray.com site collector function but I'm not digging it.
Is DVDProfiler really worth paying for? And do you have to pay extra to look at on desktop?

After the first 50 DVDs, you can continue to use DVD Profiler indefinitely, but some features will become unavailable until an Unlimited key is entered.
