Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
I have been using DVDAF since 2002 and have no plans of changing.

Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
DVD Aficionado seems to have absolutely nothing in their database at the moment. Anyone else?
|
Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
I use DVD Af and DVD Profiler:
DVD Af allows me to share better with others DVD Profiler provides me with full size graphics, reporting, and other features I recently rebuilt my entire DVD Profiler database from scratch, and now both my sources line up. |

Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
Mine's back at DVDAf.

Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
Camel Disc Catalog Windows $35.95 30 days or 300 movies 2010 It is very good disk catalog software, but it is not suitable for cataloging DVD movies. Best choise if you have large collection of various disks or mpeg4 movies. |
Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
Question: do any of the Mac options allow to input multiple viewings? Profiler allows you to track viewings but I can't seem to find any other programs that do.

DVD Count.com ... Anybody use it for cataloging their collection?
I just stumbled across the site and wondered if it was worth using.
http://********.com/ Why is it censored? |
Re: DVD Count.com ... Anybody use it for cataloging their collection?
I believe there was a problem with someone associated with the site spamming the board with it a while back.
|
Re: DVD Count.com ... Anybody use it for cataloging their collection?
^ Yep. That's the reason the site name is ***'d and why it's difficult to find any info about the site using the search. It's possible you still might get info from someone who tried the site out.

Re: DVD Count.com ... Anybody use it for cataloging their collection?
I use it. Never saw the spamming of it on the board. I actually like it for a simple catalog.

Can someone send me the name (if not the link) of this service? I'm looking for a better alternative to DVDAf and don't want to pay for Profiler.

Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
Is there any software that shows the total value of your collection?

Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
I haven't posted here in forever, but am still collecting DVD and Blu Ray. Thanks to this thread for pointing me to Movie Collector. I just started using it and really love it.

Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
I like DVD Profiler.. :D
|
Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
What I really loved about (the late) DVDSpot was the statistics page, which broke down your collection by top actors/directors/genres/decades, etc. Are there any catalog sites that offer those features?
|
Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
There doesn't seem to be the ability to vote for more than one, or to vote "Other".
I primarily use DVDProfiler, but also use on occasion ******** and DVDAficinado (those two I haven't been keeping updated as often, ******** seems to be slow on updates which was the only real downside that DVDSpot had when it was around). I also keep track somewhat on a spread sheet. |
Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
Why did my previous post censor ********?
|
Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
DVD plus Crate? Why is that word/sevice censored?
|
Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
^ I'm guessing someone must have spammed the forum with that site at some point causing the higher-ups to add that to the "censored" list.
Edit: Just noticed the issue had happened already in this thread with a similar explanation. |
Re: Catalog of DVD Cataloging Software
I have so many homemade recordings on DVD-R from TCM and Fox Movie Channel and now recently added 16x9 recordings of rare titles on MGM/HD, HDNET Movies and SONY/HD, that I can't use one of these DVD cataloging sites unless they allow me the option of adding everything in my collection. Is there one that will do that?
Thus far I have been using the MY MOVIES feature on IMDB and that seems to work fine and, of course, provides an instant link to everything I might need to know about each title. Plus there is an option to add notes for each entry. |

If you want to see your stuff online, you can use the software to export your collection as your own site and put it on your own hosting or subscribe to their online service. Here's what mine looks like after I exported it(years ago) http://misterpeepers.99k.org/nav.html I'm using http://zymic.com/ for the free hosting. |
