Is this legit?
http://www.tvmediastore.com/carolburnett.htm
The store has the scent of "bootleg" to it to me but I can't find any thing on Google that suggests this store is a bootleg site. Or legit, for that matter. That is a super price on Carol Burnett if they are the same DVDs you get from Gunthy-Renker. In the "about us" section they say they buy in bulk from various sources. Gunthy-Renker is NOT mentioned as one of the sources. This is an advertisement I saw at the top of the DVDtalk.com home page...is it safe to assume DVDTalk is NOT allowing bootlegs to be advertised here? |
Re: Is this legit?
That site looks incredibly sketchy. And for all I know there is no legit complete series set of Thundercats for sale anywhere. I'd assume if they're selling one set thats bootleg, the rest are as well.

Re: Is this legit?
There is no way in hell that they are legit. Shout! just put out the G.I. Joe cartoons in a big box set.

Re: Is this legit?
Hmmmm, crazy low prices, DVDs being offered that don't exist in other stores, a website that looks like it was designed back in 1997 using Geocities...I better go online and confirm my suspicions!

Re: Is this legit?
This really belongs in the store forum, but since they are most likely a bootleg site I'm locking the thread for now. I've asked for clarification on DVDtalk advertising it which is why I'm not just deleting it.

Re: Is this legit?
The current assumption is that it was probably a Goggle ad that you saw. Goggle doesn't care who advertising w/ them and there doesn't seem to be a way to filter specific ads, so we're stuck w/ them. So I guess the word to wise is, just because you see the ad here it doesn't necessarily mean DVDtalk has endorsed it.
