House Seasons

I really like House, but I'm confused about the dvd releases. I know that the first season was rereleased on single sided discs, but I also read that the 2nd season was 4:3 in the first release. Are the first two seasons that are in the new box set of seasons 1 - 5 single sided and widescreen ?

The way I understood it, Universal rushed the first season to DVD without properly formatting it, took a lot of heat for it and got it right with the second season. I don't know anything about a box set of the first five seasons. Are you sure it's not just another one of those up-to-date bundles and not an actual box set? I would think you'd be safe about getting a proper OAR release of Season 1 with such a bundle, but don't take my word for it.

I'd stay away from that box set of the first five seasons. First off, individual seasons would be cheaper. Second, the series isn't complete yet, with hopefully at least a couple more seasons.

From what I understand, they released S1 on 3 dual sided dvds and those had a lot of issues. Then they did the standard 6 disc set for the season and those don't have any playback issues.

I'd actually get them by individual seasons as the s1-s3 have a far different feel than the s4-s6 (whenever that comes out). S4 was also shortened (writers strike) so I would not pay full price or anything for that season.

I think it's just a collection of the regular season sets. But I was reading that season 2 wasn't anamorphic. Is it ?

Re: House Seasons

It's the first pressing of season 1 that wasn't anamorphic.

I don't even watch this show, but from what I've heard, season 1 wasn't anamorphic, and then sometime last year or two years ago, they re-issued it and it is not anamorphic widescreen like the rest of the seasons.
