Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

It seems like WWE don't have to blur out the logo in flashback sequences which was the explanation given the day after RAW 1000, so we are not sure if this applies to full matches and archive ppvs. The 50 Greatest Finishers DVD/Blu-ray still has the logo blurred but that was likely completed a while ago and the footage was probably recycled and not redone.

On WWE.com, they have a picture gallery on matches with no ring and in the Shamrock vs Owen Hart Dungeon Match Dan Severn has the Attitude logo shirt that is not blurred.

Guess we have to wait and see, but looks a step in the right direction and hopefully a deal can be made for using the logo in matches and past ppvs. I still think "F" will still be bleeped out though. But in the last few years WWE have done a pretty good job in blurring the logo without distraction.

Spoke too late buddy. There is a video on WWE.Com from when The Alliance formed and there was no blurs and WW_. You hear "WWF" spoken without and censors and no blurring. I can presume that the forthcoming Attitude Era set would be blur free.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I have the Triple H: King of Kings DVD. I bought it a long time ago but only recently thought about something. On the slip cover it says it's a two disc deluxe edition. As far as I know there's only one version of it. How can it be called a deluxe edition when there's only the one edition?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Looks like blurring of the scratch logo has finally come to an end for future DVD and Blu-ray release:

WWE Makes a Payment to WWF, Trish Stratus Releasing Yoga DVD for Men, WWE NXT Error
By Marc Middleton
Aug 17, 2012 - 8:56:00 AM

- PWInsider confirms that there was a recent settlement between WWE and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) which allows WWE to use their old WWF logo on footage. WWE made some kind of payment to the World Wildlife Fund. WWE is allowed to use the WWF logo and say WWF over footage as long as it is old footage. For example, WWE couldn't have a Legend come out on RAW next week, cut a promo and talk about how he used to hold the WWF Title and wrestle on WWF pay-per-views.

http://www.lordsofpain.net
The Attitude Era DVD has just gotten better and the perfect time to release it. I could see WWE re-releasing the Anthologies in Blu-ray format in the future.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I'm curious if this Cena vs The Rock Once in a Lifetime dvd ends up being "uncensored" language wise. as it does have all the promos (which have alot of 'son of a bitch' and 'ass')

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I have it and watched the doc and a few segments. Recall that ass and bitch were kept in. "Kung pao bitch" for example

During the doc Rock said the backstage heat on him was all bullshit, and "shit" was censored (as would be expected).

Anybody knows when amazon is going to have the Rock/Cena blu-ray in stock? Wasn't it supposed to be available already?

I tried ordering it from them on Tuesday, but it was all Marketplace sellers. I wound up ordering it from Best Buy's website instead. $19.99 for the Blu-ray. My local Wal-Mart had lots of copies of the blu in-stock yesterday, but none of the regular dvd.

Hey, I was at that show. If memory serves, I only went because HBK was rumored to be there that night, but that was the infamous night he showed up "in no condition to perform" and was sent home.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

A friend of mine got the CM Punk DVD and said that they show footage from when he broke his skull at my J-Cup show in 2002. Their were 3 people who filmed the show that day. We filmed it ourselves for JCW Home Video (my future wife was the one filming around the ring), RF Video, and Smart Mark video.

I'm wondering if someone can tell me who filmed the match by whether their is a logo in the corner. I know both RF Video & Smart Mark used to put there logo in the bottom corner of the screen. It was at that show that Rob Feinstein met CM Punk and booked him for Ring of Honor.

Thanks,
Bob
