Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Can't wait for these to start coming out! Silvervision have announced a new Tagged Classic to be released on their site in September, and it's Best Of Raw Volumes 1 & 2. These are from the 12 tape series released in the UK that covered matches from Raw, including Mid 1996 up until Mid 1998.

To have highlights of every Raw of 1997 on official release and with no blurs or anything is going to be wonderful

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Was hoping Silver Vision would put the Best of RAW Volume tapes as Tagged Classics...pretty awesome! its great to have a region free player.

The Rock/Cena set looks pretty good too...they loaded up on special features and great to have highlights from RAW after WM28 with Lesnar's return as Blu-ray exclusives. Also digging the film cut version of the match. Definite first day pickup.

No opinions on the Punk set? WTH happened to this thread?

I'm really looking forward to the Doc, not super impressed by the match listing, but I don't know what else I'd be expecting...

I know what you mean, but once the matchlist came out, I realized that it's about what I would have expected and anything else would have been pushing it. Like, what, Vince McMahon is going to find whatever gutter Ian Rotten is sleeping in today, just to offer him $20 apiece for maybe three matches to add to this set? Probably not.

I'm excited for the Punk set, but my excitement is mainly for the documentary part. I've got a few friends who were pissed that there were no indy matches on there, but I'm not sure why they were under the impression there would be.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

The skull fracture happened at a show I ran, for Jersey Championship Wrestling back in 2002, called the Jersey J-Cup. He had gotten hurt the night before and still flew in to work our show. They don't have our footage, as far as I know, so I'm curious what they are going to show or will it just be him talking about what happened.

For those of you getting that new Undertaker Streak set, Kmart is your best bet as they have them available with a bonus 3-DVD disc set of Undertaker's starting this week.

Anyone know what is on the bonus 3 disc set and if this includes the Blu-ray of 20-0?

Only the DVD set of Undertaker - The Streak - 20-0 has the bonus 3 disc set included -
which is the Undertaker's Deadliest Matches DVD set that came out in 2010.
The Blu-Ray set doesn't include a bonus DVD set.

Wouldn't be a buy for me anyway - not interested in the DVD version if a Blu-Ray version is available
and I already have that DVD in my collection. Now if Tombstone - History Of The Undertaker - set
was the free DVD set - I would have made the drive to K-Mart as I don't have that one in my collection.
I would have then sold the Undertaker - The Streak - 20-0 DVD set to one of my friends.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

IDK if it was cut for time, poor taste or what, but on the Undertaker Streak dvd, they cut the post match angle at Wrestlemania XV where the Ministry of Darkness hangs Big Boss Man by the throat with a noose from the Hell In a Cell.

All of the other post match stuff seems to be in tact on the other matches thus far

Pretty obvious it was because of poor taste...they also cut it from the 15-0 DVD too. Its only been included on the Wrestlemania Anthology and the original print of WM15.

WWE banned choking with cables and removed that feature from the SD games since the Benoit incident.

Another thing WWE edited from the Streak DVD is Taker's entrance from WM19...it starts off Taker on the ramp with his motorcycle and zooms out avoiding cameras on Limp Bizkit.

New trailer pretty much indicates that footage of his indy stuff will be included in the doc.

WHY WWE ISN'T BLURRING LOGOS ANYMORE
By Steven Fernandes - PWInsider.com - on 2012-08-07 - 22:59:50

A lot of people will be very happy to hear this one. WWE noted that their legal proceedings
with The World Wildlife Fund were settled in the last quarter. Details of the settlement were
not listed, but that would probably explain why the scratch logo was not blurred at RAW 1000.

As PWInsider.com has noted, WWE wanted the issue with blurred logos put to rest in advance
of launching the planned WWE Network.

LB: Great news for the Attitude era DVD/Blu-Ray set that is coming out at the end of the year.

I was about to post this in the wrestling thread in Sports, but this is probably the better thread for it.

Even though it means I'm gonna have to buy Mania 14-17 again (already have Original 18 DVD), and the Royal Rumble and SummerSlams from the era, this is great news.

I'm also hoping this is why they never released Vol. 3 of the Survivor Series Anthology. Vol. 3 would have covered 97-01, meaning it would have the screwjob and the 4 blurred years on one set.
