Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Would have been nice to at least let them finish out the year. I have a region-free player anyway, but i just prefer to use the PS3.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Is there a good list for comparisons for deciding which version to get either DVD or Bluray?

I don't see why there would be. Why not go for the BD every time, you're getting more bonus features & better PQ. There's no cons, unless you don't own a BD Player. Price could possible be a factor, however.

Nah, I do have a BR player, I just like the lineup of my wrestling DVD's and doing bluray would throw that all off! :P

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

So if the the Undertaker "The Streak" is on DVD and Blu Ray, does that mean that certain matches would be cut off the DVD release??

Also, in my opinion, I would find a DVD on The Streak to be some what boring. I just feel there would be no excitement to it, because you clearly know who is winning every match on that DVD set.

I won't be getting it as I have all the matches, but the Blu Ray probably contains Road To Wrestlemania build. For instance, Undertaker beating up David Flair from 2002 could be on there. Or Triple H smashing up Undertaker's bike from 2001.

No matches will be cut off - its scheduled to be a four DVD disc set and three Blu-Ray disc set
release so all 20 of his WM matches will be on both sets. I'm sure the Blu-Ray set will have some
special features that are not on the DVD set but what that is hasn't been announced yet. LB...

There's a huge con: lack of transferability. I can rip a dvd and put it on my phone to watch at work or in the gym. Can't do that with blu ray.

Also, not everyone has more than one blu ray player. I can only watch a blu ray in one room of the house. A dvd I can watch on five different tvs in my house.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Anyone here have any idea of the TNA dvd situation? Are they planning on doing them in house like ROH? Or are they going to work with a distributor again? Either way once they get back into action, they better put the PPV shows we missed on dvd so there's not a huge gap in the collection.

Last I'd heard, they were planning on selling them on their site. That was a while back though and there doesn't appear to be anything new floating around.

Amazon.co.uk are selling DVDs that are not available like Twin Pack Vol. 6 and Genesis 2012. Also preorders for Lockdown 2012 and Twin Pack Vol. 7 are there.

I read the UK versions are region free. I bought the Turning Point 2011 and Final Resolution 2011 twin pack and it's region free but still in PAL format. So your DVD player and/or television would have to convert to NTSC.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

For those interested looks like TNA Twin Pack Volume 6 with Turning Point 2011 Final Resolution 2011 is a Shop TNA exclusive:

http://shoptna.com/turning-point-fin...twin-pack.aspx

I'm guessing they're developed in-house.

Genesis 2012 and Lockdown 2012 are probably next.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Their shipping rate is tolerable at $4.95 but when you factor in that $3.78 "handling" fee, it's a bit too rich for my blood. $26+ for a set that I used to get for $15 at Amazon just isn't working out for me.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I guess I'm done buying TNA DVDs then if it's only going to be in house since it would cost $34.95 just in shipping for a single DVD.

Hey everyone,

I haven't posted here in a few years but saw this on Amazon last night and apologize if it has been posted already. It is way better than what I thought it would be.

Damnit....I'm so angry that TNA are only selling their DVDs right now online....I can't bring myself to pay $28 for a 2 pack when I could get them for half that on Amazon.

I agree, shipping is $15 to Canada, plus they use UPS, so they also charge brokerage fees, so in the end it would come up to about $40 or so for the 2 pack.

I bought the UK version from Amazon.co.uk and came up to about $18 with shipping converted to Canadian dollars.

I might have to go that route. I've got to check if my equipment can convert to NTSC

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I'm getting really fed up with Silvervision at the moment, what with all of the Pre Orders being taken down. They've been saying for almost a month now that they will explain the situation, but they haven't.
