I guess there is a Clash of the Champions dvd set coming out this year. That is pretty sweet!! There is a lot of great matches to choose from for sure for that one.

Michael Hayes?

Thinking outside the box maybe...

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

So with that being said, anyone have any particular Clash matches they would like to see on this dvd set??

Also, do you think that they will pay to use Jesse Ventura's voice?? He did all the 1992 and 1993 Clash of the Champions shows, so that is 8 Clash shows he did.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I don't own either Ric Flair DVD collection, so keep that in mind for a lot of my choices. My list has a lot of Flair.

NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Ric Flair vs. Sting
March 27, 1988

2-out-of-3 Falls Match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Ricky Steamboat vs. Ric Flair
April 2, 1989

"I Quit" Match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk
November 15, 1989

WCW World Heavyweight Championship
Vader vs. Davey Boy Smith
August 18, 1993

WCW World Heavyweight Championship
Vader vs. Ric Flair
November 10, 1993

WCW World Heavyweight Championship vs. WCW International World TitleRic Flair vs. Sting
June 23, 1994

WCW World Heavyweight Championship
Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair
August 28, 1994

WCW World Heavyweight Championship
Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair
August 15, 1996

Those are honestly the matches I would want to see the most.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Flair vs. Sting and Flair vs. Steamboat were pretty long matches. It is gonna be interesting to see if they make the cut. I would think they would, but where as SNME dvd had many matches that were short, the Clash matches were pretty lengthy for time.

I would like to see Steamboat/Douglas vs. Windham/Rhodes from Nov. 1992 make the dvd, as well as Steamboat/Douglas vs. Hollywood Blondes from Jan. 1993.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Guys, I need some quick help. I have the Wrestlemania Anthology, the second version with additional WM shows included. Months ago before I got married, I listed it on Amazon marketplace at a high price, almost $230, thinking it would never sell but if anyone wanted to pay that much I'd let it go. Anyway, someone just bought it, but I think there may be a problem.

I see different things online about how this set should include four different cell inserts. The one I have does not have any sort of cell inserts. I bought it secondhand, and have always believed mine to be complete, but now I don't know.

What I have is the large box, with the four individual sets inside. In each of those I have an insert that folds open with information on each WM included in the respective volume. In addition, I have the two DVD fold open case that is on top of the individual volumes that holds the added content.

Should I also have four cell inserts in addition to everything I have here? I want to let this buyer know and let them decide if they still want it. Thanks guys!

Looks like you got the WM1-22 Anthology (21 and 22 are in a cd foldout case on top of the lid) which was i believe Best Buy exclusive and was also on WWEShop for a while.

The four cell inserts were (correct me if i'm wrong) available only in the initial anthology with 1-21 released in Nov. 2005.

Seriously disappointed with the match listing. I honestly think WWE is just getting lazier and lazier with the matches they choose. I realize there is a whole new generation of WWE fans buying these sets, but there is also an established fan base who deserve to see a little something else.

Only real good additions I see are the match with Randy Orton, which I believe has never been released, I'm sure it will be cool to see Edge vs. Christian from 1995, but maybe it's just because it just looks a lot of obvious doubling up: Edge/Guerrero, Edge/Matt, Edge/Cena, Edge/UT, Edge/Christian, the EC match, etc. Maybe it's just because I have the bad luck of already owning any set or event with these events, but this list is a bummer.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Actually, WWE didn't choose those matches. Edge did. From what I read about it already. He got to pick out what matches he wanted.

I was hoping for his US Title win over Angle on Raw, and his KOTR win over Angle as well.

But I too am a bit disappointed in it. Even the Blu Ray stuff isn't a lot. I figured it would have been stacked with better matches. Oh well.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I must have a different mindset than other wrestling fans. I don't think I've ever complained about a match listing on a DVD because the matches aren't the big part for me, it's the documentary. I can't remember the last release where I sat down to watch some of the matches only.

That Edge set looks fantastic to me, and a segment on Credgley makes it an automatic win. And I'm glad to be getting the Raw retirement speech, which was the bigger one to me.

Yeah, the match listings don't really mean all that much to me either. I prefer the documentary stuff as well. Sometimes I find it a bit of a chore to get through all the matches.

I think the "pissed-off" part came from his music choices (refusing to use the generic music pool) and who he wanted to be interviewed if I recall correctly.

I agree...i believe people that are buying this DVD have already bought Decade of Decadence, which i think compliments nicely, just like the new Rock DVD with his 2008 and Just Bring It! releases.

People need to realize that WWE has to target the mass audience, not everyone collects every single DVD release.

For people that complain about repeats, the simple answer is don't buy it.

Yup. It should be more obvious than ever how much they cater to the casual buyer with their increasing tendency to release more of these "top...." catch-all type releases with countdowns and such.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I am not sure how informative this will be for anyone, but I noticed at the two Walmart's near me (I live in Ontario, Canada) that some random WWE dvds are there now for sale for $14.99. They are fairly new too, and were once marked at $29.99 so I am not sure what kind of deal this is for anyone, being you may already have them. There was DX: One Last Stand, 21st Century Greatest Stars and Bret vs. Shawn.

From Mick Foley's twitter:
Those were good times, kid. I was just in Stamford, CT today, shooting the Attitude DVD, saying @steveaustinBSR was THE man in that era!

Looks like we have an Attitude Era DVD on the way!
