Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

According to Amazon.com the Best of King of the Ring is releasing on DVD and Blu-ray December 13 and Best PPV matches of 2011 on December 27, also on DVD and Blu-ray.

Looks like we will definitely see both CM Punk vs. John Cena matches in HD.

Also looks like no Survivor Series 2011 on blu-ray...so it's likely WWE will start with Royal Rumble 2012, but wouldn't surprise me if they cancel that too, and they will just release WM28.

A second Edge DVD looks to be on the way, and there's a video up which shows Christian is the host of Ladder Match 2.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I didn't hear about best of King of the Ring. I'd rather just prefer a PPV set though.

Ones i'm getting soon are the Ladder Match 2 and Bret vs. Shawn. there's some matches in there i've never seen before which is kinda new for WWE DVD's as of late.

That's great news about the Edge DVD. There's alot of 2000/2001/2002 skits that he did with Christian, Kurt Angle and Mick Foley that I'd love to have on an official release. This one will probably have a documentary on it as well.

That is good news, I would be interested in both of those blu-rays. With the PPV matches 2011, they better put both of the Punk Cena matches in there . To be honest, I still have not bought the MITB dvd because I was frustrated at the lack of the blu-ray release. I hope they also consider the Danielson MITB match as well for the PPV matches. Then that would become an automatic and I would longer have a need to purchase the PPV on dvd.

I am suprised to see Edge is getting another DVD but can not complain though!

makes sense marketing wise. He's just retired so it would be probably timely to get a doc out highlighting his career since his first DVD was just matches.

That is true, I rather have the matches over the documentary though

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I know this isn't WWE DVD news, but the WWE 12 Collectors Edition will feature the Rock and will include a Blu-ray or DVD depending if you get the PS3 or 360 version featuring the following matches:

The WWE 12 Collector’s Edition is slated to include the following material:

- Foil sleeve cover packaging featuring The Rock
- Copy of WWE ’12 videogame
- The Rock playable in-game character
- Exclusive Foil Topps Trading Card featuring The Rock
- Art Image of The Rock
- WWE Blu-Ray/DVD featuring:

1. WWE Championship Match – Booker T vs. The Rock – SummerSlam – 19th August, 2001
2. Intercontinental Championship Match – Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam – Raw – 16th September, 2002
3. World Heavyweight Championship Match – Triple H vs. Kane – Raw – 23rd June, 2003
4. 60-Minute Iron Man Match for the WWE Championship – Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar – SmackDown! – 18th September, 2003
5. WWE Championship Match – Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio – SmackDown! -18th March, 2004
Just when WWE just included the Lesnar/Angle Ironman...sounds like a pretty decent list of extras. If it was Collector's edition featuring the Rock, i would have assumed they would have included only Rock matches. Rock vs. HHH Iron Man from Judgment Day 2000 would have been a nice extra to replace Angle/Lesnar.

Not really, those matches are aviable on other sets, now if it was unreleased matches that is not avaiable anywhere then yeah, it would be a decent list of extras

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I can see them doing another Edge, but in the form of what Austin did. Personally, I'm waiting for HBK and Bret Hart. That's going to be a very big DVD and I hope it sells well so they do more DVDs like that.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Those are the matches on the first disc of the Blu-Ray version of "Greatest Superstars of the 21st Century". Pretty lazy by WWE really.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

That match listing is almost definitely wrong. It's only the matches on the 21st Century Stars BD. No way will is WWE that stupid.

EDIT: This is straight from WWEgames Facebook

"The People have spoken! The Rock will dominate the WWE '12 Collectors Edition! Full details announced early next week. LIKE THIS if you smelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll what the WWE '12 Collector "The People's Edition" is cookin!"

That was posted today. So obviously that match listing is a fake.

Makes sense, but WWE has included a disc from part of their 3 disc sets. I think SD vs RAW 2007 collector's edition for Xbox 360 included the third disc of History of the WWE Championship DVD. In the UK, they had a Undertaker, Randy Orton and Bret Hart Editions for 2011 which had Unforgiven 2007, No Mercy 2007, and one of the discs from the Bret Hart DVD respectively.

Since it's a Rock Special Edition, wouldn't surprise me if they included one of the discs from "The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment" release...this is probably far fetched but maybe even the "Just Bring It!" DVD.

If i were to get any PPV this year it would be Money in the Bank, but I don't think it's on blu ray. That bums me out.

Always keep an eye on Kmart. Since they are the "official retailer for WWE merchandise", they have pretty good deals on some discs. For the past couple years, Summerslam has been $9.99.

And Summerslam is def a must buy. I was there and it was pretty damn good. Wade vs Daniel is a match that I could watch over and over again.
