Mark, I'm still keeping out hope it does happen but if it doesn't, no big deal as we have enough material coming out between now and the year's end to keep us satisfied, per se. Next week, WM 27 finally comes out and planning on getting/receiving the 3-DVD disc set. Should be a good set.

"World Championship Title" who says that? It's not even a mistake, he says it twice. Really cool to see the old school WCW logo from the Nitro set (the letters are too close together, tho).

I'm looking forward to this set, should be really good. Everyone buy it and maybe we get a volume 2...
Ha, I just copied the Sting-DDP match off vhs to a dvd. Was a great moment live, maybe one of the last on Nitro.

No we are still waiting for the listings! If the Owen-Bret Hart Steel Cage match is not on it then it is bullshit, it is the best Steel Cage match ever!

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

WWE has made Silvervision pull down several WWE DVDs from their website, more and more follow:
The True Story Of Wrestlemania (Which I don't think had been released yet, if it did it was last week)
The Hart Family Anthology
Greatest Stars Of The 90s
Best Of Raw 15th Anniversary
Best Of Raw: Seasons 1 & 2
History Of The WWE Title
History Of The Intercontinental Title.
This angers me, 4 of those I still haven't bought and everything is going mad at the moment. Some say it is because they are pulling everything to do with Owen Hart, yet the PPV anthologies and the Bret Hart set remains, hopefully it will all be alright and they will go back on sale, but it's worrying after what happened in 2002, and after the Benoit incident.

I doubt it has to do with anything with Owen Hart since Martha has not won a lawsuit yet with her recent suing last year

Is that the 1994 Summerslam match you're referring to? I thought that was on the Bret Hart DVD set, but I could be wrong.

Yes, that is right and yeah it is on the Bret Hart DVD set, that match should be on the best steel cage match anyway just in case people do not have the Bret Hart DVD

What or...
  • Bloodbath: Cage Matches
  • The Hart Family Anthology
  • History of WWE Championship
  • SummerSlam Anthology
I would venture to guess that most people have at least one of those sets.

Way too dark in there, man. Even an extra little desk lamp would work wonders for you.

WTF WWE!? I can see old events having replaced music on new releases, but this event just happened. Don't use those songs at the event if they aren't cleared for (at least) the first home release! I'm not sure why this has infuriated me today more than normal, but it's really stupid. IIRC didn't Metallica play live at the event? WWE should negotiate the home release when inviting these guests. If they don't want to agree, don't have them there.

I don't believe they were actually there. The reason they edit it is the same reason the UFC edits mainstream songs from their DVD's- it costs nothing or next to nothing to use the songs on a live event, but using them on a commercially released home video would cost them a big chunk of change, especially in this case with Metallica.

I do agree with you that they should either pony up in advance to clear it in all formats or just not use it at all, though. It gets a bit maddening.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I am not too surprised about the edits on the Wrestlemania 27 release. WWE has been known to do that for years with their dvds. The best part out of this though is for those who complain about it, because they always buy the dvd anyhow, thus giving WWE no reason at all to change what they do. If people would say "screw this, I am not gonna buy an edited version of the show" then the dvds wouldn't sell and WWE would be out that profit of the dvd sales.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

New member here so please lead me to the right direction if this question has been answered.

Is there a list available that lets you know what WWF / WWE DVDs did not have an inside insert included in their release?

Thanks.

Hi,
Basically anything from Highest Flyers onwards don't have inserts. Older releases I'm not sure there is anything out that lists them, but the vast majority of the older ones do have them do tho (except PPVs).

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Is nobody buying WrestleMania on DVD or Blu-ray this year? I dont ever remember this forum being this quiet on the day of a 'Mania release before. I was hoping for some feedback on the lowest price to find the BD and also where there might be any exclusives available...

Mark, will you be making the inserts for the WCW Monday Nitro and Best Cage Matches DVD sets for next month?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

For people that picked up WM27 on DVD...is it true they split the HHH/Taker match between the 2 discs? if so that's just horrible...glad i'm getting the Blu-ray version instead,
