Nothing really, it was just the first version I ever owned. But the meat pack art is just lame.

I used to have the Wizard VHS. I ordered it from this place that advertised in Fangoria and paid about $50.00 for it! It was so dark in some scenes you couldn't even tell what was going on.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

7Keyes - that green room is crazy! How bad is light reflection when watching a film at night?

I've been wanting to put something like this together for awhile now, but my last place wasn't picture worthy and I didn't have the storage capacity. Now I mostly have the storage problem cured but the problem is that it's all over the place. Anyway, here's my little corner of the Earth.

Gear:

Panasonic TC-P42X1 Plasma
Pioneer Elite SC-05
Pioneer BDP-51FD Blu-ray Player (1.65 Firmware)
Xbox 360
Paradigm Monitor 7 V.2 Fronts
Paradigm CC-370 V.2 Center
Paradigm Titans V.3 Surrounds

...yes, I need to build a shelf to prop up the display over the center speaker.

Next up is a custom matted black frame for my Chirashi (small promotional film flyers) that are passed out around Japan. The frame was set up in a way so that I could more easily swap out the flyers to add new ones any time.

Bride with White Hair - mid-80's Hong Kong film.

This view is direclty to the rear of the display. Small Ghost in the Shell collection up top, some old Bandai die-cast metal / plastic toys from the late 70's and some other odds and ends.

This is the lower half of the shelf from the picture above. Anime series and films and most of my Yakuza and Samurai films are here.

This is rear left side of the cubed shelf looking back into the viewing area. Top deck are more mainstream Hollywood films and the lower deck is more Japanese.

This is the rear right side of the cubed shelf looking back into the viewing area.

My Blu-ray and Xbox game collection.

My adult and some of my Hong Kong and Korean collection.

Miscellaneous box sets.

Yet another book case with more random boxsets and some of my low budget, B, exploitation, grindhouse, whatever I felt was necessary films.

And finally, some of my random foreign films.

Well that's the majority of my collection. I still have three boxes full of DVDs that I didn't picture. At some point I intend to build a free standing shelving system to hold all of my media. After that I won't know what to fill all the emptied spaces with.

There's never a reflection day or night.

Maybe I'm just used to it, but I don't think it's as neon/glow-in-the-darkish as the pics might make it appear.

Heh, yeah. It had some fun camp factor but generally failed like most of the new wave of low budget splatterfests coming from Japan recently.

Re: Post pics of your DVD collection and HT, Part 13

I love looking at these setups and I used to have shelves and shelves like this. Like another poster mentioned I just stood looking at them one day and said what the fuck am I doing. So I stopped buying and I ripped all my 2000 DVDs to my HTPC and now I just use streaming and netflix for anything new. I feel so much lighter and my wallet is much heavier. I will still enjoy looking at these though...keep them coming!
