I too loved this show as a kid. I wonder if it holds up after all these yars. Will probably get it though. Love the package art (courtesy TVShowsOnDVD):

Re: Ghostwriter Season 1!!!

LOL, this reminds me of how they played the same damn episode over and over for a good while, that one where the kid was stuck in a subway tunnel near Ebbets Field.

I'll pre-order with Amazon closer to release date, but it's good to know that the only company that still gets me to buy DVDs are Shout Factory.

Definitely in for this. They should package it with a notebook to write down clues.

Love the show. I've had 'gray' copies for awhile now, if this is available at a decent price, I'll pick it up.

Now they need to work on releasing Square One TV.

Great news! Here's hoping Shout! gets their hands on more shows from the same ilk & era.

Re: Ghostwriter Season 1!!!

Alright ! I loved this show when I was younger. I remember that the episode that I always used to see was the one where they were entering that contest. They had to write that story about the monster that was made of purple bubble gum. I also remember two other ones. The one where they had that foreign friend that disappeared. The other is the one where Jamal's dad, played by Samuel L. Jackson, starts getting real sick, and it turned out that the doctor that helped him when he was a kid and sick got kicked out of his house when he was a kid. Ghostwriter had to travel back in time 60 something years and help the doctor when he was little. Great show !

Re: Ghostwriter Season 1!!!

I loved this show as a kid, probably would be number 2 on my nostalgia DVD want list (#1 would be Wishbone). I am definitely going to get this at some point but I might wait for a sale, the current price is a little high for a nostalgia purchase.

If anything I think this show might hold up more then other shows from the early 90s (despite it's dependency on technology).

Re: Ghostwriter Season 1!!!

How could this show possibly not hold up? If nothing else it's the best example of early 90s kids TV/tech-obsession you're ever going to find. The whole concept is so dated in the best way possible.

Re: Ghostwriter Season 1!!!

How does Shout even make money on some of the stuff they release? This show has such a limited appeal.

Maybe, maybe not. Based on this thread there seems to be a pretty loyal following.

On Amazon.com it is, shipping to Canada would add $9 and the exchange rate adds another $2-3. Amazon.ca does not have it listed yet. I guess it depends on what it is sold for here when it comes out.

I don't know if a dozen people is really a loyal following... I'm just always amazed to see Shout release some of these shows and wonder how they get any type of profit out of them.
