I know it's early, but if you've got the DVR space MGMHD is doing a Billy Wilder marathon tonight with The Apartment, Irma la Douce and The Fortune Cookie. All three have Oscar wins, with The Apartment being a Best Picture winner. It's part of a special MGM At The Awards series they're doing all this month and next, so they may be worth keeping an eye on for the challenge.

I spent a good part of last week seeing what I had that was nominated and checking my library for some "Best Picture" wins.

No problem. Glad it helped someone. I just got a new DVR so I've been watching the listings looking for movies to fill it up with. I don't really have many options though since I don't subscribe to any premium channels. Still, I'll try to post when I catch something good coming up.

I was going to pass on this challenge, coming off the Horror and Holiday challenges I felt like I hit the rookie wall. But I'm going to push through it and give it a try.

I think you'll have fun with this challenge, because you're not stuck to any one theme. You can watch a huge variety of films. It's really not much different than my normal viewing habits.

I'm excited about this challenge. Took a few moments to go through my unwatched pile and I have a healthy amount of Best Picture Nominees/Winners. Should be enough to keep me busy the entire time.

I normally watch 31 movies and 3 TV seasons per month, and can easily pick stuff that qualifies for each monthly Challenge.

I'm so glad to hear people really like this one. I remember coming up with it waiting for a train to take me downtown.

I'm usually burned out by this point, but I think the later start date is a big help. Sadly I keep watching Disney movies that would count. I need to stop doing that!

I'll give this a shot again. Gotta fill out the awards at my Icheckmovies page.

I'm running into the same problems that I ran into with the last two challenges. I have a bunch of movies available to me NOW and the time to watch them this week. But next week, I seem to be booking up really quick. It figures.
BTW, when does the LISTS thread go up?

Re: The 4th Annual Academy Award Movie Challenge (2/7 - 3/7)
I've watched a few movies that would qualify the past two weeks without even thinking about it. Then again, I watched Wrong Turn 3 as well.

Re: The 4th Annual Academy Award Movie Challenge (2/7 - 3/7)
I have a question about the decades part of the checklist. Does that mean a Best Picture winner from each decade or a film that won any Academy Award from each decade?
