Re: DVD Talk New-To-DVD Theatrical Release and Discussion Thread
thanks!
we defintitely need users like you with such great info in this thread! i am happy to titles like sherlock holmes and daybreakers are out so fast! last year with a bit annoying in that regard with 6 month windows for star trek, angels & demons, terminator salvation, etc. i would welcome a trend towards smaller windows again! |
Re: DVD Talk New-To-DVD Theatrical Release and Discussion Thread
eh dont welcome it so fast.... Depending on the studio and Title
Daybreakers is Lions gate who generally uses smaller windows However Warner bros with Titles like Invictus, Book of Eli, and Edge of darkness look for longer windows but again depends on how popular they are and what the studio has in store for the DVD release with extras and what not. Avatar is not supposed to show up until at least June and thats a fox title. But stuff like Spy Next Door and FROM paris with love might be a lot quicker. both out in sping. |
Re: DVD Talk New-To-DVD Theatrical Release and Discussion Thread

Re: DVD Talk New-To-DVD Theatrical Release and Discussion Thread
LOL I think Mar 9th is a bit much, too many good movies coming out on one day
Good Grief |
Re: DVD Talk New-To-DVD Theatrical Release and Discussion Thread
Ok so the lastest is this
Brothers is 3/23 Ninja Assassin is 3/16 Up in the Air is 3/9 AND AVATAR Finally, retail sources in Europe are reporting that James Cameron's Avatar will arrive on 2D DVD and Blu-ray from Fox sometime in June. We can't vouch for this, but if they're accurate it's possible the title will street some time around then in the States as well. We're expecting that a Blu-ray 3D version will arrive later in 2010, in time for the holidays |

I really hope these delays are because a Criterion is in the making (I know the original statement said Antichrist wasn't one of the movies they acquired in the IFC deal, but CC did mention they were doing more von Trier movies this year). |
