If it counts for anything Amazon shipped my Never Sleep Again DVD along with the other 4 things I had pre-ordered that came out today(X-Men,Iron Man,Iron Man:Armored Adventures, and Saving Private Ryan). Can't wait for it to arrive!

Re: A Nightmare On Elm Street: Film Favorites

I started watching some of the extended interviews on disc 2 and they actually had about 2 minutes of footage of the people who worked on the original talking about the remake. I'm glad it wasn't part of the original documentary since that was made for the original series, but they pretty much bash it. Robert Shaye says his name was just added on as executive producer and he had nothing to do with it, Robert Englund doesn't bash or praise it same with Heather Langenkamp, but Wes Craven says they never asked him for his input or anything. Kind of odd when Craven has been involved with most of his own remakes.

Ooh. Now that poses a dilemma. I'm really wanting to check this one out, but I'd rather get it on Blu...

They should make sequels to all the elm street films, but done in the style of wes cravens new nightmare.Wait a minute,I just realized if they did a sequel like that to elm street part 2, it would be called jack sholders new revenge !!!!!!

They had 3 copies of "Never Sleep Again" at FYE for $19.99. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting to get paid for 3 jobs I did so I couldn't buy it.

It really sucks that the Blu-ray won't be out until October. I'd rather buy that version, but I really want to see this and I'm done double dipping.

Wow, that would be even more boring than the original dream child. If the blu ray for that doc, came out day and date with the dvd, I would probably get the blu.Heck, if it was only a couple months I would wait. But October is too far off, so ill forget about double dipping with the blu.Because, if we start double dipping on freaking documentaries,no matter how awesome it may be , we are in trouble.

Picked up the Documentary while at Weekend Of Horrors in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Probably won't have a day off until next week from work, but I can't wait to watch it.

I'm good friends with the guys who made the doc. We hung out @ the Weekend of Horrors this past weekend and they told me that the Blu-ray is NOT confirmed yet. They were hoping to have it out by Oct, but since this is a self-release situation, they need to gauge interest/sales before anything moves forward.

So, anyone on the fence should just buy it. It's WELL worth the money, and if they do put it out on BD, it'll be recut with lots of extra bonus features. They don't want to make anyone double-dip if it's not worth it.

I saw the documentary at FYE last week, it was $19.99 and I saw it somewhere else, but can't remember where.

I've been watching the doc over the last few days and I am LOVING it. Even after 4 hours, I was wanting more. Thank God for Disc 2.

I love the series, but seeing the opening credits for the documentary screened at the "Never Sleep Again" Panel at Weekend Of Horrors, had me pretty much knowing I'd drop the dough to get the doc.

Paid $30 for it at the con, but I know it will be well worth it whenever I get a chance to watch it

Re: A Nightmare On Elm Street: Film Favorites

I'm an idiot (but I have everyone here partly to blame)...I've been seeing this thread getting constant attention but just made the assumption that it was all about the Film Favorites DVDs, as the title says. Instead I find 2+ plus pages of discussion about this mega-cool documentary that's been released. This should have been it's own thread.

Anyone else see this at a retail store? Noticed the note about FYE but their closest location to me closed months ago. I'd like to pick up a little cheaper than the $25-30 currently available online.

I'm guilty of that as well. This documentary somehow managed to slip right past me until just a few days ago. I found this thread tonight, lol.

No problem, I'm not 100% positive on the price, but I saw it release week on the freestanding new release rack by the registers. It may be on the new release wall by now, though.

I'll check it out. If I can't find it there, there's gotta be somewhere on that stretch of road that's got it.

FYE and Best Buy didn't have it but Newbury Comics did for $19.99 so I grabbed it there. Again though, thanks for the heads up.

Re: A Nightmare On Elm Street: Film Favorites

Went ahead on purchased it from the official site on the last day to get the signed poster. Amazon & DD have it listed cheaper, but 1 - 3 week delivery estimate... If it does get a blu release I will reassess the situation at that time and perhaps trade up.
