Too many - being here in Japan, I don't get to see so much TV, but during 2009 a lot of TV on DVD went on BIG sale at Amazon.com and I was impressed.
Six Feet Under (Complete Series)
The Wire (Complete Series)
The OC (Complete Series)
Sopranos (Complete Series)
Possibly Carnivale (Complete Series) was the very best!

I am gonna say Let The Right One In. Finally found a correctly subtitled one at Target and had to grab it and see what all the fuss was about, as I'm a longtime vampire fan.
However, my honorable mention goes to An American Werewolf in London. I saw it at Big Lots earlier in the year and I thought the cover looked rather cheesy (After looking around, I like the newest edition cover a lot better). Then I read the thread about it at Halloween time and decided it might actually be worth seeing. I was lucky enough to find another 3$ copy just waiting for me to buy it and it turns out I love it, bad cover and all.

Tough call. This year more than any I've done a lot of blind buys, especially on TV Shows. It's a tie between Battlestar Galactica (The Complete Series) and How I Met Your Mother (Seasons 1-3).
Unfortunately it's all downhill from Season 2...

Yep...as I thought might happen, Public Enemies is one of my all-time best blind buys. I watched it last night and am tempted to watch it for a 2nd time tonight.

Awesome that people blind bought The Wire & loved it.
Off the top of my head, by favorite blind-buy so far was Eric Rohmer's Six Moral Tales during the first B&N sale.

I like your style. Due South was one of my all-time favorite TV shows, and I consider Psych to be the best show currently on TV.
As for my blind buys, I can't really recall too many. The only one that comes to mind is the new Star Trek movie, which I only bought for the Steelbook but surprisingly enjoyed despite the fact that I was never a Trekkie.

Haha. Yep you were absolutely right. Halfway through the first season I realized it was a good choice. I need to get The Plan at some point too. And I found The Face Of The Enemy online but I'm trying to find somewhere to download them from so I can burn 'em on DVD until they release it as an extra on some BSG Movie in the future.

Have to agrew with the orginal poster, Eastbound & Down for sure. I've watched it multiple times with my girlfriend. Such a hilarious show. I love the work of Jody Hill and David Gordon Green.

The Shield.
I found a used copy of season 1 back near the beginning of the year for $10. I had heard good things about it.
I killed season 1 in about three days and then finished off the entire series within the next two months (I had to download season 7 to watch it, since it wasn't out yet).
My favorite dramatic show of all time now, slightly edging out 24.
